Here, the pattern control relay of trunk LPOGTB is driven by a channel controller to make its contact (s0) to send out an actuation current for grounding an A line to party office ICT via terminal AH, and party office ICT receives it and then sends back an actuation end signal for grounding a B line to trunk LPOGTB, thereby making relay M operate. Consequently, a supervisory signal is transmitted or received by outgoing trunk LPOGTB without being passed through the network and a selective signal by MF sender trunk MFOSTB is sent out, so that the signal system can be realized which is adaptive to both two-wire and four-wire networks.
