    • PURPOSE:To assure an amount of supplying oil to a compressor by a method wherein a high pressure discharging gas is bypassed by a bypassing capillary to an accumulator and refrigerant stored in the accumulator is agitated. CONSTITUTION:When a surrounding air temperature and an indoor air temperature are low during a freezing cycle, an evaporation temperature of an indoor heat exchanger 5 is low during a cooling operation, an evaporating temperature of an outdoor heat exchanger 4 is low during a heating operation, and a refrigerant accumulated in an accumulator shows a low temperature, the refrigerant shows a temperature range where a two-phase separation may easily occur. Thus, normally, a discharging pipe 10 is connected to the first bypassing capillary 8 selected to cause an amount of discharging gas bypassing the accumulator 3 to become appropriate value, thereby the refrigerant in the accumulator 3 is agitated and even if the temperature in the accumulator enters a region where the two-phase separation occurs, a returning amount of oil to the compressor 1 is not decreased and then a stable amount of returning oil to the compressor 1 can be assured.

    • PURPOSE:To widen the operational range of an air conditioner and improve its reliability by a method wherein, during the heating operation, the detection of a rise of the temperature of the gas discharged from the compressor by a detector causes a two-way valve to open so as to supply liquid refrigerant to the suction side of the compressor with an effect to lower the temperature of the compressor. CONSTITUTION:There is provided a tank 9 which branches off from a refrigeration cycle between a four-way valve 2 and an indoor heat exchanger 7. In the cooling operation, when refrigerant circulates in a large amount, the tank 9 does not store liquid, whereas, in heating, high-pressure refrigerant gas cooled by the ambient temperature is stored. When refrigerant runs short, generally the influence of the shortage is greater during the heating operation because of lower suction pressure and higher discharge pressure than during the cooling operation; this influence in the operation of the refrigeration cycle comes as a rise of the temperature of the gas discharged from the compressor 1. When a detector 10 detects this influence, a control 11 causes a solenoid valve 12 to open so as to release the liquid refrigerant in the tank 9 to the suction side of the compressor 1 through a capillary 13 so that the temperature of the gas discharged from the compressor 1 is lowered. In this manner, this constitution enables widening the operational range of the air conditioner and improving its reliability.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent looseness and instability of component parts to be inserted into a water pan for an air conditioner and at the same time to provide an inexpensive water pan having an internal stress breakage or the like prevented by a method wherein some stays are divided into some sections and inserted into the water pan. CONSTITUTION:A water pan 9 of an air conditioner is provided with stays divided into three sections at both sides thereof. Central stays 8a2 and 8b2 are provided with screw holes for use in fixing an electrical box, fixing holes for use in fixing a suction bell mouth and a hanging fixing hole for use in fixing an ornamental panel for an air blowing port. To its resin material side is spot welded an adding plate 15 bent in an opposite direction so as to prevent the fixed component elements from being dropped. With this arrangement, it is possible to prevent looseness and instability of stays or the like and bosses caused by a variation in temperature. Further, it is also possible to prevent a crack caused by an internal stress breakage generated under a presence of inserted material or the like. Because of a substantial reduction of preparation time for performing a molding operation, the price of the device can be reduced.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to detect promptly and accurately a saturation temperature required to control the degree of superheat by installing an orifice in a saturation temperature detection bypass pipe branched from a discharge gas pipeline, circulating refrigerant said saturation temperature detection bypass pipe, and minimizing the amount of refrigerant to be cooled. CONSTITUTION:When the refrigerant present in a first refrigerant pipeline 7 is liquid, closed pipe 6 is super-heated by its contact with a second refrigerant pipe 8 at high temperature in a refrigerating cycle, which vaporizes and saturates the refrigerant in a first pipeline 1, thereby detecting the saturation temperature in a saturation temperature detection pipe 22. Furthermore, a suction gas temperature detection thermistor 18 detects the temperature of suction gas and calculates the degree of superheat on a control panel 21. When he degree of super heat is small, it reduces the opening of an electronic expansion valve 13; when the degree of super heat is great, it increases the opening of the electronic expansion valve 13, thereby controlling the degree of super heat. An orifice if installed in the first pipeline 1, throttles the amount of liquefied refrigerant entering the first pipeline 1, reduces the amount of heating refrigerant, and detects the saturation temperature, thereby controlling the degree of super heat with accuracy.

    • PURPOSE:To improve comfortability, by a method wherein a plurality of heat exchangers are connected by a communicating tube so that the heat transfer tubes thereof are arranged in series while at least a heat exchanger is connected to the refrigerant pipeline of a refrigerating cycle, in the heat exchangers for a ceiling embedded cassette type air-conditioning machine. CONSTITUTION:Gas refrigerant enters from the refrigerant passage 11-1 of a heat exchanger 6-1 as shown by an arrow sign and is changed in a heat transfer tube from refrigerant of an overheating gas refrigerant area into refrigerant of gas and liquid 2-phase refrigerant area. Then, it flows into the heat exchanger 6-2 through a communicating tube 7a under the condition of the gas and liquid 2-phase refrigerant area and, then, is changed into the condition of overcooled liquid refrigerant area. Subsequently, the refrigerant is returned to the heat exchanger 6-1 through the communicating tube 7b and flows into the refrigerant pipeline of a refrigerating cycle. Accordingly, the overcooled liquid refrigerant area is distributed through the heat exchangers 6-a, 6-2 substantially equally, whereby air with an uniform temperature may be blown off through respective surfaces of air blow-off ports. According to this constitution, the blow-off temperatures of a plurality of blow-off ports may be equalized and the comfortability of an air-conditioning machine may be improved.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of remaining water at a drain port and decrease the degree of forming of ice by a method wherein a shape of an extremity end of drain port of an air conditioner is machine worked to have an irregular shape. CONSTITUTION:An irregular shape is applied in the direction of height of burring of a drain port 4 of an air conditioner, a certain volume of dew 2 is collected at the convex portion and then the dew is dropped by its own weight. An extremity end of a drain port 4 is made as a corrugated form, a minimum radius of curvature R1 of a recess portion and a minimum radius of curvature R2 of a projecting portion are applied to have a relation of R1>=R2. With this arrangement, an amount of remaining dew becomes quite low and an amount of iced water at an extremity end of the drain port is also decreased. With this arrangement, no trouble is found at each of the component elements during a period when a temperature of an air conditioner is increased up to a surrounding atmosphere temperature under which an operation of the air conditioner is assured and so an operation of the air conditioner can be continued.
