摘要： PURPOSE:To observe a direct image and a reflected image of an optical fiber simultaneously by single-time focusing by putting a transparent medium which is larger than air in refractive index and has a specific length along an optical path in the optical path. CONSTITUTION:The direct image 10a when the abutting part of the optical fiber 10 is seen directly from above and the reflected image 10b when it is viewed horizontally through a mirror 14 are observed simultaneously through a microscope 11, and the transparent medium 20 which is larger in refractive index than air and has the specific length along the optical path is put in the optical path extending from the optical fiber 10 to an objective lens 12 through the mirror 14. Then, the optical path length from the optical fiber 10 directly to the objective lens 12 is equalized substantially to the optical path length from the optical fiber 10 to the objective 12 through the mirror 14, and the direct image 10 and reflected image 10b are observed simultaneously by putting in focus once.

摘要： PURPOSE:To enable realization of connection with high density and to perform setting of the central position with high accuracy with respect to the outside circumference of a core having just a simple circular shape and control of the hole diameter by making use of one core in connecting fibers. CONSTITUTION:A pair of plugs 10 are connected to an adapter 20. The positioning key 11 of each plug 10 is engaged with the engaging groove 21 of the adapter 20 to position circumferentially a core 30. A clad is removed from the end of a clad optical fiber 1 to expose optical fibers 2. A circular cylindrical body 2' (an optical fiber may be used as a dummy) having the max. outside diameter is disposed at the center of the many optical fibers 2 and thereafter the multicored fibers 2 are assembled by a heat shrinkable tube 40. The central dummy fiber 2' is provided at the center and the fibers 2 are provided on the outside. The top ends of the seven-cored fibers 2, 2' are assembled into a hexagonal shape by the shrinkage force acted toward the center when the tube 40 heated to shrink, by which an optical fiber bundle is formed. The core 30 is inserted into a split sleeve 22 in the stage of connecting.

Next, >=250g force of friction is applied between the optical fiber and the coating by caulking. Thus, the optical fiber can endure sufficiently the compressive stress of the optical fiber due to variation of temperature.

摘要： PURPOSE:To provide an optical connector having a small outside diameter by providing a sleeve in which a pair of ferrules are inserted respectively to align axially optical fibers and a grasping part to fit a pair of the ferrules inserted into said sleeve. The sleeve 11 aligns the axial centers of the cores 8 to each other by means of the ferrules 9 inserted therein. A pair of the right and left ferrules 9 inserted in the sleeve 11 is fitted into a housing 12 for fixing. The housing 12 has grasping parts 12a having elasticity on the right and left and a groove 12 for fitting of the ferrule 9 is formed at the center of each grasping part 12a.

摘要： PURPOSE:To permit easy attachment and detachment by fitting tightly an elastic tube from a sleeve fitted onto the juncture where the ferrules at the terminals of optical fibers are butted to each other so as to cover both ferrules. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical ferrule 1 is integrally fixed to the terminal of each optical fiber 5 and a collar part is formed on the outside circumference in the rear part of the ferrule 1. A sleeve 2 to be fitted onto the juncture where the ferrules 1 are butted to each other is formed of phosphor bronze and is longitudinally slit. An elastic tube to be tightly fitted from the sleeve 2 to cover both ferrules 1 is a rubber tube 8 formed of silicone rubber. The inside diameter (c) of the sleeve 2 is made smaller than the outside diameter (b) of the ferrule 1 and the inside diameter (a) of the tube 8 is made smaller than the inside diameter (c) of the sleeve 2. Since tightening force is then exerted on the ferrules 1 from the tube 8 as well, the axial deviation of the ferrules 1 is extremely minimized.
