摘要： PURPOSE:To enable the complete sterilization of carrier particles, by adjusting the pH of the reaction system prior to the sterilization of the particle when the reaction efficiency of the carrier particles attached with microorganisms is lowered, thereby releasing the attached microorganisms from the carrier particles as far as possible. CONSTITUTION:The biological reaction is carried out continuously by contacting a stock liquid with microorganisms attached to a carrier in a solid-liquid fluidized bed reactor. When the reaction efficiency is lowered, the supply of the stock liquid is stoped, and the pH of the liquid in the system is lowered to =10, preferably >=11 with an alkali such as NaOH. The system is stirred keeping the above pH condition usually at room temperature for 30min-10hr to effect the release of the microorganisms from the carrier. Thereafter, the carrier particles are sterilized.

摘要： PURPOSE:To treat waste water efficiently, by using water-floating particles for carriers of microorganisms, introducing the waste water in downflow, and aerating a carrier-packed layer from below to increase oxygen dissolution efficiency in the aerobic treatment. CONSTITUTION:Waste water (a) flows from an introducing pipe 5 through a distributor 3 formed on the upper part of a treating vessel 1 downward through a carrier particle packed tower 2, discharged through a treated water drain pipe, and recovered as treated water (b). At that time, the water (a) comes into contact with microorganisms and is purified in the layer 2, and a part of the treated water is pumped and recirculated for retreatment. An aeration device 4 is provided on the bottom of the vessel 1, and air and/or pure oxygen is blown into the layer 2 from below or to its lower part in /m .hr (unit sectional area) feed rate, to execute countercurrent contact between the water and the gas, thus permitting sufficient feed of oxygen necessary for aerobic microorganisms used for waste water purification.

摘要： PURPOSE:To oxidize and decompose hydrazine within a short time, by bringing hydrazine-contg. waste water into contact with one or more being selected from pure oxygen, oxygen-contg. gas and oxygen-generating substance in the presence of the catalyst of Raney copper. CONSTITUTION:One or more of pure oxygen, liquid oxygen, air, oxygen-contg. waste gas and oxygen-generating substance such as hydrogen peroxide are individually or conjunctly supplied to and brought into contact with hydrazine- contg. waste water in the presence of the catalyst of Raney copper by the process of a completely mixed, stationary or moving bed, to oxidize and decompose hydrazine. The supply amount of oxygen is sufficient at a value of 1.2 times a theoretical amount necessary for the oxidation of hydrazine. A reaction temperature and reaction pressure may be at ordinary values without the need to especially raise a temperature or to highten pressure. This method does not require complicated operation but enables to perform oxidizing decomposition within a short time.

摘要： PURPOSE:To automatically wash the filter layer with a sinple construction counter, by providing the draft tube in the filter bed and sending compressed air, at the time of filtering by the upward flow using floatable lightweight particle as filter material. CONSTITUTION:Feed liquid is passed in upward flow through the packing bed 7 formed the filter medium having a lower specific gravity than that of the filter feed liquid, under maintaining board, such as the perforated plate 6, provided with the upper part of apparatus and is filtered. When the pressure loss is made great in the filter bed by an increase of filter residual substrance of growth of microorganism film, feeding of the feed water is stopped and compressed air is sent to the draft tube 5 opening the upper end under the upper face of the filter bed and the lower end near the bottom face. Thereupon, the whole liquid in the apparatus is turned into circulating flow and the microorganism layer stuck on the filter medium, is exfoliated and caught SS, etc. are released during the circulation and then, counter washing is carried out. Thus, the filter medium is automatically washed counter by a simple construction and the counter washing water can be economized also.
