摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine, capable of reducing the amount of a reducer to be added for enriching an air-fuel ratio as much as possible, without excessively reducing the amount of intake air. SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control system comprises a NOx occlusive agent 20 which occludes NOx in the exhaust air when the air-fuel ratio of the inflow exhaust air is lean, and emits occluded NOx when the air-fuel ratio of inflow exhaust air becomes a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio or rich, an adding means 28 of the reducer which reduces the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust air flowing into the NOx occlusive agent 20 and purifies the emitted NOx, an EGR device 25 which recirculates part of the exhaust air in an intake system, an EGR valve 26 which controls the amount of the exhaust air to be recirculated in the intake system, an intake throttle valve 13 which controls the amount of intake air, and an intake air heating means 21 which heats intake air. To add the reducer in exhaust air by the adding means 28, the intake air throttle valve 13 is closed and the EGR valve 26 is opened to reduce the amount of intake air and heat intake air by the intake air heating means 21, thus reducing the amount of the reducer to be added. 摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of preventing the an exhaust purifying catalyst from being cooled by the inflow of fresh air in deceleration, and free from the delay in response in transferring to the next operation, while efficiently purifying the exhaust. SOLUTION: An exhaust switch valve 30 is mounted on an exhaust passage 18 at an upstream side with respect to the exhaust purifying catalyst 20, and the exhaust passage 18 at an upstream of the exhaust switch valve 30 and an intake passage 8 at a downstream of an intake throttle valve 13 are communicated by an EGR passage 24 of an EGR device. In deceleration, the exhaust switch valve 30 and the intake throttle valve 13 are completely closed, the EGR valve 26 is fully opened, then the exhaust switch valve 30 is fully opened after the lapse of a predetermined time, and the EGR valve 26 and the intake throttle valve 13 are opened with specific opening. Further in deceleration, the intake throttle valve 13 is opened with specific opening, the EGR valve 26 is completely closed, then the exhaust switch valve 30 and the intake throttle valve 13 are completely closed, and the EGR valve 26 is fully opened.
