    • PURPOSE: To provide an MR imaging method and an MRI system capable of photographing a moving object and imaging by suppressing an artifact, by calculating phase correction quantity from the mutual relation of each view data for navigation and phase-correcting the each view data for imaging by the phase correction quantity. CONSTITUTION: By a magnet assembly 1 in an MRI system 100, firstly, imaging echoes are sampled via a phase detector 12, etc., while applying a phase encode gradient onto the y axis and a frequency encode gradient onto the x axis, respectively, to collect each view data for imaging. Secondly, a rewind gradient is applied to return the phase encode quantity to '0', and, while applying the encode gradient and the read-out gradient of the sampling number of which polarity is reversed, data for navigation in the frequency axis direction is collected by sampling navigation echoes. Then, the phase correction quantity is calculated from the mutual relation of data for navigation of each data to attempt reconstruction of the image.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically extract an interest region with a sufficient precision by calculating a threshold value by which the interest region is extracted, based o the photographing condition of an image and a picture element value histogram, and extracting a region in the image by using the threshold value, and making the region the interest region. SOLUTION: In step M1, a series of MR images for which the same region of a subject is photographed from different photographing locations at the same photographing angle are read. In step M2 a pretreatment for the MR images is performed. In step M3, if the photographed region of the image is the head, the process is advanced to M4, and if it is the torso, the process is advanced to M6. In step M4, a threshold value by which a brain parenchyma region in the image is extracted, is calculated. In step M5, using the calculated threshold value for the extraction of the brain parenchyma region, the brain parenchyma region (interest region) is set in the image. In step M6, a threshold value by which a spine region in the image is calculated. In step M7, if the angle of the torso image is axial, the process is advanced to step M8, and if it is sagittal, the process is advanced to step M9, and if it is coronal, the process is advanced to step M10. In steps M8, 9 and 10, the axial, sagittal and coronal spine regions (interest regions) are respectively set in the image by using the calculated threshold value for the extraction of the spine region.
