    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing active carbon having a low metal content by activating granular carbide of cellulose acetate.SOLUTION: Regarding the method for producing active carbon, in an external heat type rotary kiln including: a heat resistant cylindrical body 13; hoods 14, 15 on both the edge parts thereof; a feed port 16 for the granular carbide of cellulose acerate provided at the hood 14; and an exhaust passage 17 for the activation-treated granular carbide provided at the hood 15, the granular carbide fed to the heat resistant cylindrical body via the feed port are heated in the presence of an activation gas so as to be activated, and are then exhausted via the exhaust passage, the activation is performed using water vapor as the activation gas and also using the heat resistant cylindrical body 13 in which at least the inside surface is formed from a ceramic material, and the exhaust of the granular carbide is performed using the hood 15 in which at least the exhaust passage and the surface region including the surrounding of the exhaust port are formed from a ceramic material.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a label removing device for a bottle made of a resin which removes a label from the bottle made of the resin at a high removing rate, and for a short period of time.
      SOLUTION: A rotary shaft equipped with a plurality of impellers are arranged axially in a cylindrical housing to form this label removing device. A casting port for the bottle made of the resin having a label is formed on one end section or in its vicinity of the housing, a bottle discharging port is formed on the other end section or in its vicinity, and a label discharging port is formed on the upper section respectively. Then, one piece, or two or more pieces of a saw blade vane are provided on respective impellers for this device which removes the label from the bottle made of the resin.

      SOLUTION: The carrier comprising a magnetic material the surface of which is coated with a predetermined resin layer is brought into contact with sub-critical water containing hydrogen peroxide at a temperature of 280°C or lower and a pressure of at least 0.1 MPa or more so as to remove the resin that coats the surface of the magnetic material of the carrier. The magnetic material with the coating resin layer removed is used as it is, and a predetermined resin is applied on the surface of the magnetic material to obtain a desired carrier.
