    • A lamp system (10) includes a straight tube lamp (13) and a socket (14). The straight tube lamp (13) has a straight tube-shaped cover (20) which accommodates a semiconductor light-emitting element, and at least a portion of which is translucent, and a lamp base (23) which is arranged at both ends of the cover (20). On an end surface of the lamp base (23), a pair of lamp pins (30) whose distal ends respectively project outward are disposed to project and an erroneous mounting preventing projection (31) is disposed to project. The socket (14) allows the straight tube lamp (13) to be mounted thereon in such a way that the pair of lamp pins (30) are inserted from an outer surface thereof and the straight tube lamp (13) arranged on a front surface side is rotated. The socket (14) has a recess (63) into which the erroneous mounting preventing projection (31) is inserted and rotatably moved in response to insertion and rotation of the pair of lamp pins (30) .

A method for sealing the wiring cavity (266, 440) in a lamp socket includes fabricating the lamp socket with a passageway (258, 558) between the wiring cavity and the lamp side of the socket housing, positioning the socket housing on a non-adhering surface (300) with the lamp side facing upward such that the wiring cavity is blocked by the non- adhering surface, introducing a potting compound into the wiring cavity from the lamp side of the socket housing through the passageway, and removing the socket housing from the non-adhering surface after the potting compound has hardened.

Eine solche Anschlußvorrichtung 10 ist insbesondere für eine Fahrzeuginnenleuchte geeignet.

    • An angled lamp socket is provided that includes a body and a housing. The body contains therein opposing lamp retaining clips and a plurality of lamp contact members. The housing contains therein a plurality of terminal members. Respective lamp contact members are connected electrically to respective terminal members within a portion of the housing. When a lamp is inserted into the socket, the horizontal axis of the lamp will extend at an angle in relation to the terminal members. In a preferred embodiment, such angle is 90° thereby providing a right angle lamp socket. Each electrical connection may be a weld, or a spring biased engagement, between the lamp contact members and respective terminal members. The electrical connection is such that there is no need for any special opening, and cover thereof, to gain access to the inside of the lamp socket.
