[MEANS FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEMS] The amplifying apparatus includes at least two amplification circuits, one and other amplification circuits, composed of multiple amplifiers whose output sides are connected to each other, driven at the same frequency. The multiple amplifiers forming the one amplification circuit are configured with a first inverting amplifier M12 inputting and amplifying a reference pulse, and a second inverting amplifier M11 to which an inverted pulse formed by shifting and inverting the phase of the reference pulse is inputted. The other amplification circuit is configured with the first inverting amplifier M14 and the second inverting amplifier M13 to each of which other wide pulse with a width greater than that of the reference pulse is commonly inputted.

    • Provided is a pulse generator that generates a pulse signal with a preferred waveform and offers increased isolation for a period of time when the pulse signal is not output.
      A pulse generator 100 allows a high-frequency oscillator 101 to output a high frequency signal and allows an amplifier 102 to amplify and output the signal. The amplifier 102 amplifies the high frequency signal from the high-frequency oscillator 101 and outputs the signal only for a period of time when its drive power is supplied by a drive circuit 110. The waveform of the drive power, supplied from the drive circuit 110 to the amplifier 102, is controlled by a waveform control unit 120 such that the high frequency signal amplified by the amplifier 102 becomes an ultra-wideband pulse signal.

    • A circuit arrangement for a picture display device for generating an essentially sawtooth-shaped line deflection current with a trace and a retrace through a deflection coil (Ly), which circuit arrangement comprises a series circuit of a trace capacitor (Cs), the line deflection coil and a bidirectionally conducting, line frequency-­controlled switch (S1) which is conducting during the trace time and is not conducting during the retrace time, in which retrace time the deflection coil and a retrace capacitor (Cf) are part of a resonant network. The series circuit also comprises a voltage source (U), while the losses in the series circuit are so low that the sum of the DC components of the voltage of the source and of the voltage across the trace capacitor is many times higher, at least 5 times, than the amplitude of the AC component of the source. The deflection current is given a desired variation by means of three controls.
