摘要： A leaf spring system (1), in particular for influencing at least one body operating or comprising one or more contacts of an electric switch, with a chassis and at least one leaf spring (2) which can act on the at least one body. Said leaf spring system (1) comprises a supporting frame (3) for receiving in the frame aperture (4) thereof, supported at one end, the at least one leaf spring (2), while in the frame aperture (4) between the projecting free end (7) of the leaf spring (2) and the edge (8) of the supporting frame (3) - situated opposite that end (7) - the at least one body to be influenced by the spring action can be accomodated. The dimension of said body in the frame aperture (4) being greater than the distance between the said edge (8) of the supporting frame (2) and the free end (7) of the at least one leaf spring (2)when the latter is situated essentially in the plane of the supporting frame (3). Said supporting frame (3) being rigidly supported by the chassis. The invention further relates to leaf spring combinations to be used with and electric switches provided with such a leaf spring system.

In one aspect of the present invention, a return mechanism (10) includes: a first spring (1) that acts between an operating section (11) and a working section (12); and a second spring (2) that acts between the operating section (11) and a base (13). A direction in which the second spring acts when the operating section (11) is in a first position is not parallel to a direction in which the second spring (2) acts when the operating section (11) is in a second position. A component which, of a force of the second spring, acts in a direction of motion of the operating section (11) is smaller when the operating section (11) is in the second position than in the first position.

In a thermal overload relay combining this reversing spring contact switching mechanism (6) with a bimetal heat element 2 that responds to an overload current through a main circuit the displacement of a bimetal (2a) of the heat element (2) caused by an overload current is transmitted to the plate spring (7) via a shifter (2c) and a releasing lever (5) to cause the spring to be reversed in order to switch the contacts.
