    • The steering wheel measuring scales (200) has a housing (201) that is intended for being placed in a top area (110) of a steering wheel rim (101) and at least first clamping means (203,204), which can be deployed from a bottom area (2018) of the housing with an electric motor in such a way that said means lock with the steering wheel rim. This facilitates considerably the correct insertion of the steering wheel measuring scales in the steering wheel (100), thereby reducing the danger of erroneous slanted clampings. Another embodiment includes means for measuring the deployment time of the first clamping means, means for determining the deployment lengths based on the deployment time and a set value of the deployment speed, means for comparing the deployment lengths with set values and means for signaling in case inadmissible deviations of the deployment lengths from the set values occur. This makes it possible to easily determine whether the first clamping means are mounted slanted in a steering wheel thereby existing the danger of erroneous measurement when determining the angle of the steering wheel. An alternative embodiment includes means for measuring the deployment lengths of the first clamping means. This makes it possible to accurately determine whether the first clamping means are improperly mounted on the steering wheel.

    • The invention relates to a retaining device (1) for a wheel-alignment analyser for fixing to a wheel (2) of a motor vehicle. Said retaining device has a retaining element (3) comprising at least three retaining arms (4) and fixing means (6) that can be displaced along the retaining arms (4). The ends of the fixing means (6) are provided with an overlap region (7) for overlapping the edge (8) of the rim and the retaining element (3) can be fastened to the edge (8) of the rim by the fixing means (6). The aim of the invention is to provide a retaining device (1), which offers a stable fixing and centring solution, thus permitting a correct wheel-alignment analysis. To achieve this, the overlap region (7) is spring-loaded in the direction of the wheel (2) and/or the fixing means (6) have a spacer (12) and the overlap region (7) is retained on the spacer (12) so that it can be displaced in the direction of the wheel (2).
