摘要： A bolt assembly (10) for a firearm (F) such as an auto-loading or pump action shotgun includes a bolt body (20), bolt carrier (21 ) and a bolt head (22). The bolt head (22) is received within the bolt body (20) and is rotatable within the bolt body (20) to lock the bolt assembly ( 10) into battery prior to firing the weapon, but does not extend from the bolt body (20) during such rotation. The bolt carrier (21 ) translates axially relative to the bolt body (20) so as to cause rotation of the bolt head (22). The extractor (70) for the firearm (F) can be pivotally attached to the bolt body (20), while the ejector (90) further can be integrated into the bolt assembly (10) for engaging and ejecting a shell or cartridge after firing.
