    • A heat exchanger, especially for the processing of food pharmaceutical products comprising at least two, preferably three, coaxially superimposed frusto-conical jackets defining an annular space between each jacket present. Inlet and outlet means for a first fluid are connected to opposite ends of said annular space, and a spacer in the form of a conical helix is freely and releasably disposed in said annular space in contact with the opposite conical surfaces thereof. The spacer and the conical surfaces define a helical fluid channel leading from the inlet means to the outlet means. Means are provided for releasably attaching the frusto-conical jackets at their large ends and for sealing the large end of said annular space. The first fluid exchanges heat with a second fluid in contact with a surface of one of said jackets contiguous but exterior to said annular space.

    • A heat exchange apparatus which utilizes the solar heat, hot spring water or underground water comprises a cylindrical main body, an internal cylinder placed in the main body, a blower provided in an upper part of the internal cylinder, an air intake, a number of radially arranged air exhaust tubes, ring shaped upper and lower heat exchange compartments, and chambers formed between heat exchange compartments, on and under the upper and lower heat exchange compartment, upper and lower chambers are connected by coil tubes placed in heat exchange compartments, the outer coil tubes and inner coil tubes are successively connected so that each of connected coil tubes has the same overall lenth, which improves efficiency of heat exchange between air and water which are caused to move in a counterflow fashion.     • A method of making a heat transfer coil by placing pieces of heat conductive tubing in juxtaposition with each other; and deforming the pieces of tubing in a controlled manner while maintaining the pieces of tubing in juxtaposition to selectively adjust the cross-sectional size of the fluid passages through the pieces of tubing and to cause the areas of contact between the pieces of tubing to be increased to enhance the heat transfer rate between the working fluids passing through the fluid passages in the tubing. The pieces of tubing are placed in juxtaposition by winding the pieces of tubing helically around a winding mandrel to form juxtaposed coils and the size of the passages through the pieces of tubing are adjusted by internally pressurizing the tubing.
