摘要： An infra-red gas heating system is described. The system comprises a heating pipe (18) and a plurality of combustion devices distributed along the length of the heating pipe for supplying hot gases to the interior of the pipe to cause the pipe to emit infra-red radiation from its surface. Each combustion device comprises a burner unit (G) disposed in the heating pipe (18) and control means (F) having an air orifice (11) for supplying the correct amount of air for complete combustion of fuel to the burner unit, means being provided to cause a predetermined excess of air to flow through the pipe in use of air to flow through the pipe in use of the system so that each of the serially arranged burner units can operate within the pipe with complete combustion of fuel in an atmosphere which contains the combustion gases of any upstream burner units. Radiant heat from the pipe may be deflected by means of a reflector means and the temperature of the pipe may be controlled locally by insulating means provided inside the pipe.

摘要： A method and apparatus for preventing simultaneous operation of a heat pump and a separate heating source are disclosed. A thermal sensing element is mounted to the compressor discharge line adjacent the indoor coil of the heat pump when the heat pump is in the heating mode of operation to sense the refrigerant discharge temperature. Based upon the temperature sensed, simultaneous operation of the furnace and the heat pump may be prevented such that the heat pump is not cycled on a compressor overload designed to avoid compressor operation under abusive conditions. Additionally, by the selection of the location of the high temperature sensor, the sensor is not responsive to operation of the heat pump in the cooling mode since the operating temperatures in cooling are significantly below the setpoint to prevent simultaneous operation during heating. The combination of a heating lockout relay and an interlock relay are utilized to provide for fail safe integrated operation including providing for selected control functions and for isolating other functions to prevent a failed electrical component from operating the system in an undesirable manner.

摘要： The apparatus includes a condenser (4), through which passes a duct (3") that carries, downward, the fumes from heating boiler (1) to bring them into a lower chamber (5). The fumes are mixed with ambient air in this chamber (5), a mixture that is then moved upward, going through the evaporator (4) by the action of a fan (9), placed contiguous to the collection chamber (10), placed above the evaporator (4). Together with the recovery of heat from the fumes there is a recovery of the heat contained in the ambient air. Besides the high efficiency that can be obtained with a limited capital investment, in the case of fumes the apparatus purifies them of the solid particles in suspension and even noxious gaseous components. The apparatus is used independently of the hot gas, for example, to heat water for domestic use. The air that is exhausted by the fan (9) after having given up its heat inside the evaporator (4) can be used for conditioning a closed area.
