Ce dispositif atténuateur de bruit (1) comporte un tube central (5) qui est ceinturé par un tube extérieur (10) pour définir entre eux une chambre d'absorption acoustique (11), entre une paroi d'extrémité amont (12) et une paroi d'extrémité aval (13).
Le tube central (5) comporte un tronçon amont (5 a ) perforé, qui s'étend jusqu'à une zone intermédiaire (20), prolongé par un tronçon aval (5 b ) plein, dépourvu ou pratiquement dépourvu de perforations.
La chambre d'absorption acoustique (11) est partiellement comblée par un matériau absorptif acoustique (14), dont la bordure d'extrémité aval (14 d ) est située en amont de la zone intermédiaire (20) précitée.
