    • The present invention provides a tightening structure with which a reduction in processing steps is achieved without modifying the shape of a partner member and improvements in bolt strength and fatigue strength are achieved, and with which the fitting length of a thread ridge is not altered greatly in comparison with a conventional tightening structure such that a size reduction can be achieved, thereby contributing greatly to a reduction in the weight of a vehicle.
      A self-forming screw having a strength of 14T, which is manufactured by pre-heat treatment rolling and gradually self-forms an internal screw, is used as a tightening bolt, and a member having a prepared hole formed by casting alone or by forging alone, while not yet being subjected to screw formation, is used as a member into which the self-forming screw is screwed.
      Following tightening of an attachment member, the tightening structure has a percentage of thread engagement of 75 to 90% between the internal screw formed through self-forming and an external screw, and a fitting length of d to 2.2 d (in the case of a steel cast member or a steel forged member, d being the screw diameter), or of d to 2.5 d (in the case of an aluminum die-cast member) which is obtained between the screw and the prepared hole.
      Moreover, the screw is fastened through self-forming, and therefore no clearance is generated on a contact surface between the external screw and the internal screw.

    • Disclosed herein is a tapping screw (1) exerting an excellent anti-loosening effect with regard to a workpiece made of a soft material such as resin and an aluminum alloy. The tapping screw (1) includes a shaft part (3), and a normal thread (10) which is formed on the outer circumferential surface of the shaft part. A clearance groove (20) is formed by cutting out a portion of a ridge of the normal thread, and an engaging protrusion (30) is provided on a bottom of the clearance groove along a portion or an entirety of an edge of the bottom that continuously extends from a flank surface of the normal thread. The tapping screw (1) exerts an excellent anti-loosening effect even when a workpiece expands, contracts or oscillates because the engaging protrusions (30) are embedded into portions of the workpiece which have been embedded into the clearance grooves (20).

    • The present invention relates to a tapping screw to be coupled by machining a female screw and, more specifically, to a general-purpose tapping screw which can be used for all injection-molded objects such as synthetic resin or the like, flexible metal and hard metal. The present invention provides a general use tapping screw, which is a two-line screw having a cylindrical body, and main threads and auxiliary threads which are formed on the outer circumferential surface of the body, wherein the outer diameter of the auxiliary threads is 92∼97% the outer diameter of the main threads, the angle of the front flank surfaces of the main threads and the auxiliary threads is in the range of 12±3 degrees, the angle of the rear flank surfaces of the main threads is in the range of 25±3 degrees, the angle of the rear flank surfaces of the auxiliary threads is in the range of 20±3 degrees, and intervals between a first pitch from the main thread to the auxiliary thread and a second pitch from the auxiliary thread to the next main threads have a difference in the range of ±10-20%. The present invention also provides a coupling method using the same.
