摘要： A knit garment (10) with a generally cylindrical shape has a closed end having two portions (34, 36) attached to each other. The two portions oppose each other. The garment also includes, one being affixed at a first site near the closed end of the garment and the other being affixed at a second site disposed near the closed end of the garment. The first handle (124) is disposed between the first and second lip portions (144, 146) and the second handle (126) is disposed between the second and first lip portions. The handle material may be the same as the garment material, or a wire or plastic cord. The two handles extend outwardly from the garment near an open end (116) thereof.

A circular knitting machine for simultaneously making several pairs of tights and the like, with two tubular legs and a body portion having a front and a back, comprises a movable unit carrying a cylinder (1) with a circle of cylinder needles (14) and a plate (30) carrying an adjacent circle of plate needles (38). The movable unit moves with alternating rotary movement relative to several thread guides (50) disposed around the circles of needles. In order to make several garments simultaneously, the circles are divided into as many arcuate groups of needles as there are garments. Each arcuate group is divided into two equal sub-groups separated by a middle group. The needles of each group are automatically brought into operation in a sequence to knit the toes and legs (on the sub-groups), then the crotch (using the middle group as well), then the body (still using two threads, one for the left-hand and one for the linked right-hand side).

摘要： Provided are a knitted-fabric transferring method for a circular knitting machine, capable of surely transferring a knitted fabric which is knitted by a circular knitting machine and has a surplus portion such as a toe portion from knitting needles to transferring needles, and a knitted-fabric transferring apparatus.
Transferring needles (34) are advanced in an axial direction of knitting needles (21), such that the transferring needles (34) and the knitting needle (21) are continuous with each other in the axial direction. A transferring sinker (49) is inserted into a space between adjacent knitting needles (21) from outside to inside in a radial direction of a knitting-needle cylinder. Final loops (26) of the knitted fabric (27) caught on the knitting needles (21) are pushed to the inside of a knitting-needle cylinder (19) by engagement claws (49e) of the transferring sinkers (49). A gap (G1) is formed between an internal surface of each of the knitting needles (21) and an inner loop (26a) preceding the final loop (26). The transferring sinkers (49) are moved from the knitting needles (21) to the transferring needles (34) in an axial direction of the knitting needles (21), such that the final loops (26) are transferred from the knitting needles (21) to the transferring needles (34) by the transferring sinkers (49). The gap (G1) enables smooth transferring of the knitted fabric (27) to the transferring needles (34) while preventing the final loops (26) from being engaged by a connecting portion between the transferring needle (34) and the knitting needle (21).
