摘要： A pile knitting method by a weft knitting machine capable of forming pile loops by using a compound needle and also holding the other loops, wherein, after a tightening yarn (21) is supplied to the hook (7c) of a needle body (7a), a yarn feeder (11b) supplying a pile yarn (22) is carried by a carriage, and the pile yarn (22) is received by the hook (7c). On a forward needle bed (3), the needle body (7a) is raised to a tack position in the state of an old loop (23) locked to the tongue (7d) of a slider (7b). The tightening yarn (21) is held on the inside of the hook (7d) of the needle body (7a). When the pile yarn (22) is supplied from the yarn feeder (11b) to the hook (7c), the tightening yarn (21) and the pile yarn (22) are held on the inside of the hook (7c). The pile yarn (22) is also hung on the tongue (107d) of a slider (107b) on a backward needle bed (103) which is already raised and advanced to a tip part (2).

摘要： A pile knitting method by a weft knitting machine is provided in which a compound needle can be used to form a pile stitch and simultaneously hold other stitches. After a hook (7c) of a needle body (7a) receives a fastening yarn (21) fed thereto, a carriage brings together a yarn feeder (11b) for feeding a pile yarn (22) and the hook (7c) receives the pile yarn (22). On a front needle bed (3), the needle body (7a) is raised to a tuck position in a state where an old loop (23) is set on a tongue (7d) of a slider (7b). The hook (7c) of the needle body (7a) holds therein the fastening yarn (21). When the pile yarn (22) is fed to the hook (7c) from the yarn feeder (11b), the hook (7c) holds therein the fastening yarn (21) and the pile yarn (22). The pile yarn (22) is set also on a tongue (107d) of a slider (107b) on a rear needle bed (103), which tongue has been already raised and advanced into a needle bed gap (2).

摘要： An object is to provide a flatbed knitting machine for pile knitting and a pile knitting method, allowing pile knitting even when using a knitting needle without a locking hook for knitting yarn.
A capturing up-and-down means 10 drives a sinker 4 to raise the tip thereof upwards in a needle bed gap 1a, capture the ground yarn fed through a yarn feeder between a claw for ground yarn 4a and a claw for pile yarn 4b, and draw the ground yarn below the needle bed gap 1a. The solid lines show the sinker 4 when driven to capture the ground yarn. The dashed lines show the sinker 4 with the tip having retreated from between knitting needles 3. The two-dot chain lines show of the sinker 4 re-advancing to between the knitting needles 3, after the steps of separating the ground yarn 8a and the pile yarn 8b, and being driven so that the tip retreats from between the knitting needles 3 after the stitch formation by yarn drawing with a hook 3a. Pile knitting is performed even when using the knitting needles 3 without a locking hook for knitting yarn because the sinker 4 is capable of capturing and drawing the ground yarn 8a.
