摘要： An aerated composite material produced from carbonatable calcium silicate compositions (carbonation cured AAC) that has a compressive strength equivalent to autoclaved aerated concrete (ordinary AAC) at substantially the same density and a process of production of the same are provided. The composite material of the present invention comprises: a plurality of bonding elements, each including a core comprising calcium silicate, a first layer which partially or fully surrounds the core and is rich in SiO2, and a second layer which partially or fully surrounds the first layer and is rich in CaCO3; a plurality of filler particles having their particle sizes ranging from 0.1 μm to 1000 μm; and a plurality of voids; wherein the plurality of bonding elements and plurality of filler particles together form a bonding matrix and are substantially evenly dispersed in the matrix and bonded together, the plurality of voids are bubble-shaped and/or interconnected channels, a pore volume with a radius of 0.004 μm to 10.0 μm in the plurality of voids is 0.30 ml/composite material 1 g or less, and a estimated compressive strength expressed by the following formula (1): estimated compressive strength (absolute dry density=0.50)=compressive strength×(0.50÷absolute dry density)2 is 2.0 N/mm2 or greater.

摘要： The invention relates to a plant for production of cement clinker from raw meal, having a calciner for deacidification of the raw meal and a rotary furnace for sintering of the deacidified raw meal to give cement clinker, wherein the deacidified raw meal, after passing through the calciner, flows through a cyclone preheating stage into the rotary furnace, and wherein a reactor connected upstream of the calciner on the flow path of the offgas from the rotary furnace to the calciner is provided, to which an inlet for the offgas from the rotary furnace leads, and the invention relates to a corresponding method of operating such a plant having a calciner and a rotary furnace, wherein the deacidified raw meal, after passing through the calciner, flows through a cyclone preheating stage into the rotary furnace, conducting the offgases from the rotary furnace into a reactor connected upstream of the calciner on the flow path of the offgases from the rotary furnace, wherein fuel is added to the reactor in a superstoichiometric amount in relation to the residence time of the offgases in the reactor, such that carbon dioxide present in the offgases is reduced to carbon monoxide. It is envisaged in accordance with the invention that at least one input air conduit for the supply of input air, preferably coming from a tertiary air conduit, is provided at at least one point in the reactor. In this way, it is possible to better control the Boudouard reaction that takes place therein.

摘要： Cementitious compositions in which the cementitious properties of fly ash are carefully controlled are described. The cementitious compositions may be substantially free harsh acids and bases such as citric acids (≈ pH 2.2) and alkali metal activators including alkali hydroxides (≈ pH 12-14) and metal carbonates (≈ pH 11.6). The use of these harsh chemicals creates acid base reactions during use of the products. Instead of these harsh chemicals, a lactic acid salt based activator is be used as a reaction accelerator. Boric compounds may be used as a retarder in the compositions.

摘要： The disclosure provides methods and systems for sequestering and/or reducing carbon dioxide present in industrial effluent fluid streams containing carbon dioxide. A scrubbing material comprising a first component, a second component (distinct from the first component), and preferably water, is contacted with the effluent fluid stream. The first component comprises a source of calcium oxide and a source of alkali metal ions. The second component comprises a slag having one or more reactive silicate compounds. Methods of reducing carbon dioxide from exhaust generated by combustion sources, lime and/or cement kilns, iron and/or steel furnaces, and the like are provided. Carbon dioxide emission abatement systems are also disclosed. Methods of recycling industrial byproducts are further provided.

Certain embodiments of the process comprise: forming an aqueous slurry; continuously flowing slurry onto a moving foraminous wire to form a cake; dewatering the cake to form a base mat; and drying the base mat.
