    • A winch (1) for nautical use comprises a stator body extending along a longitudinal axis (X-X) and adapted to be mounted on a sailing boat; a rotary body (20) rotatably associated with the stator body so as to be free to rotate with respect to the stator body in a first direction of rotation (R) and to be locked with respect to the stator body in an opposite direction of rotation, and a circumferential throat (30) for locking a line (100) for manoeuvring a sail of the sailing boat, the throat (30) being fixedly mounted onto the rotary body (20). The winch also comprises, in a first operative configuration thereof, an element (40) for guiding the line (100) in the throat (30). The element (40) defines, at the throat (30), a maximum radial dimension of the winch. According to the invention, in a second operative configuration of the winch the maximum radial dimension of the winch at the throat (30) is given by the maximum diameter of the throat (30). Such a winch operates, in the first operative configuration thereof, like a conventional self-tailing winch. With respect to these, however, the winch of the invention allows the line (100) to be released and completely freed from the winch by simply pulling the line upwards, and thus in an extremely quicker and easier way. Indeed, in the second operative configuration of the winch the guide element (40) is removed or moved away from the position taken up in the first operative configuration, so as not to hinder the unwinding of the line (100) from the rotary body (20) when the line is pulled upwards.

    • A self-locking reduction device used in a winch which has a support (2) to which an input shaft (11) is rotatably mounted. The input shaft has an eccentric shaft portion. Three pins (16) are formed at regular intervals on a circumference around the center of the eccentric shaft portion on an external gear (14) that is mounted on the eccentric shaft portion. Three bores (10) are formed at regular intervals on the support facing the external gear on a circumference around the center of the input shaft. The pins are engaged with the bores so that the external gear may be eccentrically moved. The number of internal teeth of the internal gear (24) is slightly more than that of the external teeth of the external gear, thereby providing a reliable self-locking reduction device.
