摘要： A rim assembly for a bicycle wheel includes a rim and a cover. The rim includes a radially inner portion disposed along an inner circumference of the rim, a first sidewall, and a second sidewall spaced apart from the first sidewall. The first sidewall and the second sidewall extend radially outward form the radially inner portion. The rim also includes a radially outer tire engaging portion disposed along an outer circumference of the rim and. The radially outer tire engaging portion extends from the first sidewall and the second sidewall, respectively. A portion of the radially outer tire engaging portion defines a well disposed between the first sidewall and the second sidewall, opposite the radially inner portion. The rim assembly also includes a cover disposed in the well of the rim. The cover includes one or more openings that extend at least partially through the cover.

The outer tire has a lip portion (22) on two peripheral edges of the outer tire (20) so as to be engaged with a wheel rim (41). The inner member (30) has two peripheral edges which are adhered to an inside of the lip portion of the outer tire. A valve (40) is connected to the inner member and communicates with a space defined between the outer tire and the inner member (30) so that air pressure in the space between the outer tire (20) and the inner member will push the inner member toward the wheel rim and expand the outer tire.

摘要： An arrangement relating to pneumatic tubeless tires which are fitted with a tire bead (12) in sealing abutment with a rim seat (13) inwardly from a rim edge (14) on each side of an undivided rim (11). The tire is provided with an internal seal (16) which is made of rubber or some like elastic material and which extends inwardly from the tire bead (12) along the rim seat (13). The outer part of the internal lip seal (16) that lies proximal to the rim edge (14) is fastened to the tire bead (12) at a distance from its end. The inner part of the internal seal (16) that lies proximal to the centre of the rim (11) has a circumference that is slightly smaller than the circumference of the rim (11) at this location. The seal (16) is adapted to seal at least around the region in which the tire bead (12) is in abutment with the rim seat (13) through the influence of the pneumatic pressure in the tire (10).
