摘要： Adhesively edge-padded stack of carbonless copy paper better separates upon fanning into collated sets when a thin layer of hot-melt adhesive is used for the edge-padding. As in the prior art, the outer surfaces of each set should have a release coating such as a fluorocarbon. The layer of hot-melt adhesive includes, by weight: 20-50% thermoplastic copolymer, 15-50% tackifying resin, and 20-60% wax having a melting point of at least 60 DEG C. As soon as the adhesive has cooled below its softening point, the stack can be fanned, thus breaking it into sets. Fanning can usually be performed within 45 seconds, because there is no need to wait for the adhesive to dry as has been necessary with the aqueous adhesives that have been used in the prior art. Preferably at least 20% by weight of the adhesive is a paraffin wax that is C35-C70 substantially straight-chain hydrocarbon.

摘要： Utilizing just five different types of sheets (25, 30, 35, 40, 45), multipart carbonless business forms may be printed with non-impact printers and then assembled together without using line hole punched sheets and intermediate parts. The CB sheets (25) have an adhesive strip (28) (continuous or discontinuous) on the CB face (27) spaced a first distance (29) from a sheet edge. There are first and second CF sheets (35, 30), the first CF sheets (35) having an adhesive strip (33) (preferably linear, and continuous or discontinuous) on the CF face (32) spaced the first distance (29) from an edge, and the second CF sheets (30) having an adhesive strip (36) on the CF face (32) thereof spaced a second distance (34) from the edge. First and second CFB sheets (40, 45) are provided, the first CFB sheets (40) having an adhesive strip (43) on the CF face (41) spaced the first distance (29), and an adhesive line (44) on the CB face spaced the second distance (34); and the second CFB sheets (45) having the adhesive strips (46, 47) vice-versa. The sheets are fed, in order, from trays (11, 12) of a non-impact (e.g., laser) printer (10) and then are collected, and after they are formed into a stack are fed through a pressure or heat sealer (19) which applies pressure or heat only to the adhesive strips, permanently sealing the pressure or heat activated adhesive associated with the sheets. The completed forms are collected in a bin or tray (22), and then ready for use as mailers, or in other types of business forms.

摘要： A business form (10) that may be easily and inexpensively produced provides a security feature while allowing ready printing of variable information on carbonless sheets, and ready utilization of variable security information. Top and bottom sheets (13, 14) of base paper have their bottom and top surfaces (16, 17), respectively, in engagement with each other. A label (21) is applied to the top surface (17) of the bottom sheets (14), underlying a blockout printing strip (20) on the top surface (15) of the top sheet (13). Carbonless imaging means (40, 41, 42), such as a self-imaging coating on the label and top surface of the bottom sheet (or a CB coating on the bottom surface of the top sheet and a CF coating on the top surface of the bottom sheet, at least at the label) , transfer variable data (48, 49) printed on the blockout printing (20) to the label (21), and preferably to part of the bottom sheet adjacent the label. An adhesive strip (30), with release tape (31) over it, may be provided on the bottom surface (18) of the bottom sheet (14). The top and bottom sheets may be connected together by spot pasting (22) along the top and bottom edges, and solid pasting (23) in removable marginal portions (25) at the side edges. The form is preferably part of a continuous business form construction.
