摘要： In molding a carbon abrasive body for electric collectors or the like from a powder composition (7) containing graphite and resin bonding agents in a compression mold (1) with at least one molding plug (3), a thin layer of resin-free parting agent is applied between the powder composition and the molding plug to prevent the resin from adhering to the molding plug under the frictional heat of compression. Preferred parting agent is powdered copper, which also improves the contact resistance when the connection cables are imbedded in the powdered molding composition.

摘要： Stiff and soft materials each provide certain advantages when used in the manufacture of separable insulated connectors, such as elbow and T-body connectors. Utilizing a semi-conductive insert or insulating material that includes one section made from a stiff material and one section made from a soft material can provide a separable insulated connector that capitalizes on the advantages associated with both types of materials. The stiff materials and soft materials can be placed strategically on the semi-conductive insert of insulating material of the separable insulated connector to maximize the advantages of each material. For example, the stiff material can be used to form a section of the separable insulated connector where strength and durability is most desirable, and conversely, the soft material can be used to form a section of the connector where flexibility is desirable.
