    • The subject piercing die (10) is particularly adapted for piercing a hole in a blank (26) having an open interior and an outer wall defining a closed figure. The piercing is done from the interior of the blank through the wall to the outside of the blank. The piercing die includes a base (14) with a slide (18) movably mounted on the base. A guide (20) is movably connected to the slide to control movement of the slide to a straight line movement. A female die (22) having a blank receptacle (66) for holding the blank is mounted on the base. The female die has a cutting aperture (70) extending through a portion of the female die and intersecting the blank receptacle. A male die (24) is mounted on the slide (18) and is positioned within the blank receptacle for mating with the cutting aperture to cut a hole in a blank positioned in the receptacle. The male die cuts a hole in the blank from the interior of the blank through the outer wall to the outside of the blank. A cam (54) is connectable to the slide for moving the male die toward the female die to engage the blank and to cut the hole in the blank.

    • The method of forming a through-hole (70) is capable of preventing formation of burrs, improving machining efficiency and reducing machining cost. The method of forming a through-hole (70) in a circumferential wall of a tubular part of a work piece (10) comprises the steps of: setting the work piece (10) to a die (20); inserting a punch (30), which is provided to a rod-shaped metal core (32), into the tubular part; and pressing and moving a press pin (35) toward the die (20) together with the punch (30) so as to drive the punch (30) into an inner face of the circumferential wall and bore the through-hole (70). The press pin (35) is inserted in the tubular part via a guide through-hole (72), which has been formed in the circumferential wall of the work piece (10) and which is located on the opposite side of a prescribed position corresponding to the through-hole (70) to be bored, and contacts a surface of the metal core (32), which is located on the opposite side of the punch (30).

    • The invention relates to a deburring tool for deburring abutting edges at orthogonally and obliquelly extending transversal boreholes having a diameter of less than 10 mm in a component, such as an engine block, an injection system for combustion engines, a valve block and a camshaft or transmission shaft. The deburring tool is moved in a rotational and/or translatory manner and comprises a tool shaft (1), which is provided with a clamping end (2), and a tubular shaft part (5), characterized in that said tubular shaft part holds one or several cutting bodies (11) with a cutting blade (3), the cutting bodies being mounted in a movable manner in a passage (10), and in that a substance that is pressed under pressure into the through-bore (7) of the tool shaft (1) displaces the blade(s) to the exterior. The deburring tool is configured as a single piece and can be produced at low cost. Different blade geometries remove the burr by means of high speed deburring. The deburring tool can be introduced into the main borehole (HB) and the transversal borehole (QB). The technological requirements for the use of said deburring tool in intermittent assembly lines are therefore met.

    • Method of and device for making perforations in the inner gusset portions of a tubular web of plastics foil which is provided with side gussets. Such perforations serve to remove air from the interior of bags to be manufactured from the tubular web. According to the invention the gussets are opened over a distance sufficient to introduce, in the interior thereof, a punching member, which is activated by exerting a pressure from outside the tubular web. A device adapted to perform this method comprises a separate carrier (5) provided at either one of its ends with rolls (10-13) and adapted to be introduced into the interior of the tubular web (1) where it is supported and maintained in its place lengthwise of the web, by two sets of rolls (16, 17; 18, 19) which are situated at the exterior of the tubular web. The carrier (5) is provided with perforating units (21-24) and the machine frame outside the tubular foil is provided with means (29-31) to exert through the web material, a force and to activate the perforating units. Preferably elements for opening the tubular foil (1) comprise sets of conical discs (42, 42a; 43, 43a; 44; 45) which are rotatable about spindles, such that one each in every set of rolls is situated in each of the two gusset halves.
