摘要： An extended latch mounted to a structure for securing an adjacent structure. The extended latch is a remotely-actuated latch mechanism that allows the adjacent structure to be released and moved apart from the structure, and later rejoined with the structure without disengagement of the latch mechanism from either structure. The extended latch includes a housing (48) that has a first wall (58) and a second wall (60) that are aligned with and positioned parallel to each other. An extendable linkage (50) is rotatably mounted to the housing (48). The extendable latch also includes a strut (54) having a central axis and opposing ends. One end of the strut (54) is rotatably mounted to the extendable linkage (50). The other end of the strut (54) is rotatably mounted to a keeper bar. The extendable latch also includes a detent mechanism (52) rotatably mounted to both the housing (48) and the extendable linkage (50). The detent mechanism (52) has a blocking position in which the detent mechanism (52) is adjacent to the strut (54), and an unblocking position in which the detent mechanism (52) is away from the strut (54).

摘要： A hinged panel (12), mounted in a frame (16), has a latch comprising a toggle mechanism having a first link (20) connected to the panel (12) by a first pivot pin (24), a second link (22) connected to the frame (16) by a second pivot pin (30) and to the first link (20) by a third pivot pin (28) so as to be movable between a closed position in which the two links (20, 22) are aligned in overlapping relationship with each other and an open position in which the two links (20, 22) are held together in aligned end-to-end relationship with each other. The connection of the second link (22) to the second pivot pin (30) comprises an open-ended slot (38) in said second link (22) and a retention lever (40) pivotally mounted on the second link (22) and having a hook-like formation (42) adapted to engage with the third pivot pin (28) to retain it in the slot (38). The hook-like formation (42) is provided with resilient means for biassing it into a position to inhibit movement out of its engaged position. At least one part (50) of the periphery of the second pivot pin (30) is flattened for that part of its length which is engaged by the hook-like formation (42). The retention lever (40) is so arranged that the hook-like formation (42) can disengage only by traversing said flattened surface (50).

摘要： A stay can be used to support a cab of a tilt cab vehicle selectively in a first raised position in which the cab has been pivoted through an angle of, for example, 40° and the stay is in compression, and in a second raised position in which the cab has been pivoted through a larger angle of, for example, 50° and the stay is in tension. The stay comprises an arm pivoted (at 3) to the cab, and an arm (4) pivoted to the vehicle frame. The ends of the arms overlap and are connected by means of a pin (5) which passes through specially shaped slots (6 7) extending in each arm. The pin (5) is formed with offset pairs of flats which cooperate with the slots (6 7) in the arms, and the pin can be rotated by a lever (14) which controls operation of the stay.
