摘要： Weatherstrips (13, 15) having opposed pile sealing elements (226) are installed in opposed slots in a frame member (14) so that the piles may engage opposite sides of a panel, shutter or screen (203), by insertion apparatus having laterally-movable slotted guides (60, 62). The weatherstrips are driven through the slots in the guides by a drive wheel (42). A laterally reciprocating cutter (48) has openings (107, 109), through which the weatherstrips are driven, and shearing edges (98) for cutting ends of the weatherstrips to facilitate entry of the weatherstrips from the slots in the guide into the slots in the frame member. Metering wheel (44) engages at least one of the weatherstrips moving through the guides, and provides for actuation of the cutter, when the desired length of the weatherstrips is driven through the guides; the length corresponding to the length of the frame member which receives the weatherstrips.

摘要： An apparatus (10) is provided for automatically cutting stripematerials (22) into slats (20) for a venetian blind. The apparatus (10) has a feeding station (12), a cutting station (14), a punching station (16) and a laddering station (18). Strip materials (22) for the slats (20) are stored in a magazine (24) of the station (12) and they are fed one at a time to the cutting station (14) for cutting into slats (20) of preset length after slots (46) have been punched. The slats (20) are then fed to the laddering station (18) for assembling into blinds. A sensor (56, 58) is positioned to sense remnants of the strip material (22) and the remnants are automatically moved back to the feeding station (12) where they are lifted off the feeding path for ejection by a following strip (12).

摘要： An inexpensive flat electric wire for a wire harness and an inexpensive wire harness utilizing the flat electric wire can be produced. A flat electric wire (P) is produced by juxtaposing a plurality of insulator-sheathed electric wire elements (a), each having a single core, on a plane; and by applying a reinforcing tape (51) on the juxtaposed wire elements (a) at a desired position over the width of the elements (a), whereby the wire elements (a) are secured together to each other by the tape (51) to form the flat electric wire (P) for a wire harness. A wire harness (d) having connectors at opposite ends is produced by winding the flat electric wire (P) for a wire harness on a reel (61) beforehand; by drawing the flat electric wire (P) from the reel (61); by measuring and cutting (A) the flat electric wire (P); by carrying the cut-off flat electric wire (P) in a juxtaposed direction while holding opposite ends of the cut-off flat electric wire (P) by grippers; and by treating opposite ends of the cut-off flat electric wire (P) during the carrying step by means of stripping (B) the insulator sheath, connecting (C) terminals (t), and attaching (D) connectors (C).

摘要： Method of making electrical connections for electrical wires to connection tabs at their U-shaped slot portions is disclosed. One of the wire ends is connected to an electrical connector and the connector is carried by wire drive means.
Connecting portions of the wires are placed on a junction device and a depressing molder presses the wires onto blades of U-shaped slots of connection tabs which stand upright facing with projections of the depressing molder while frictionally holding the another end portions of the electric wires.
An excess depression of the wires to the U-shaped slots is prevented by means of holding block projecting out of the mating surface of the junciton device while wires are inwardly pulled against both friction at one end and stretching force given by compression springs.

摘要： optical waveguide terminating apparatus applies a pair of connectors of the type comprising plug members (1) having metal retention sleeves (3) therein to the ends of an optical waveguide cable (7) having the jacket (9) stripped to expose the fiber (8). Cable (7) is positioned relative to insertion station by aligning exposed fibers (8) in narrow channels (117) in top of shear bar (110) and aligning jacket (9) in primary cable guide channels (121) in guide block (210) adjacent the shear bar (110), which has a slot (114) therein through which said strip (6) passes. The shear bar (110) drops to shear the strip (6) from sleeves (3) and aligns a secondary cable guide channel (116) above fiber guide channel (117) in block (110) with primary channel (121). Two pairs of cam actuated jaws (50, 70) grip the cable (8) and advance the ends through channels (116, 121) toward the insertion station. The channels (116, 121) drop away during this advance to permit the jaws (50, 70) to fully insert the cable ends in the plug member (1) as the jaws (50, 70) push retention sleeve (3) fully into plug member (1) to seat it on lances (4) on the sleeve (3). Resilient springs (150) bear on the jaws (50, 70) so that cable ends are pulled back to seat them on lances (5) in the retention sleeves (3).
