摘要： A telephony and data network (figure 1) is achieved by integrating a plurality of signal switching circuits in circuit hub devices. The devices (Hubs) each resemble a typical 10 Base-T, 8 port ethernet hub in size and outward appearance and preferably has an 8 port interface. This interface is constructed and arranged to interconnect to phone lines directed from a standard analog signal handling telephone set, and also from a telephone system central office. It therefore acts as an interface device between these two points in the telephone network. Each Hub provides a signal processing circuit having digital/analog signal converting capability in the form of standard telephone coder-decoder circuits. These Codec circuits are supervised by a digital signal processor which is a part of the signal processing circuit of the Hub. The Hub circuit also provides a general-purpose microprocessor capable of handling LAN communications. The Hub is configured to communicate over a LAN with any standard protocol. Software is written to allow interfacing with common personal computer operating systems and applications.

摘要： An SCSA RX/TX memory (220) receives voice data and stores voice data samples under established voice channel identifiers. A controller (240) selects voice channels, and their associated voice data, for inclusion in an ATM cell. The memory (220) sends the voice channel identifier and the voice data for the selected channels to a Constant Bit Rate Segmentation And Reassembly (CBR SAR) circuit (225). The CBR SAR aggregates the voice data into an appropriate number of ATM cell slots for each of those voice channels. The CBR SAR 225 sends the aggregated information to a Multiplexer/Duplicator Circuit (MUX/DUP) (230) which assembles the ATM cell, and sends the completed ATM cell to an ATM transceiver (265) for transmission. When there is no voice data to be sent information data from an Available Bit Rate (ABR) SAR (260) is assembled to form an ATM cell to be sent by the ATM transceiver. The MUX/DUP also receives an ATM cell from the ATM transceiver, duplicates the ATM cell, sends one copy of the ATM cell to the CBR SAR, and one copy of the ATM cell to the ABR SAR. The SARs disassemble the ATM cell, verify the channel identifiers, and route any valid channel identifiers and associated data to their respective memories. The SCSA memory attaches a channel identifier number to each voice data sample and sends the combination to the SCSA interface, which then places the combination on the SCSA port (210). A host device causes the information data to be read from the DATA memory via PCI ports (245) via a DMA operation.

The method and system involve receiving media data, generating clocking signals, transferring media data to host processor buffers, generating media transfer done interrupts for each media data stream and generating an override interrupt to indicate to the host processor to process the media data. 摘要： Since telephone terminal devices (301, 302, 303) are used as control terminals in a network information system by using a DTMF signal (or packet signal), there is no need of providing a special dedicated terminal device or building a computer system, and any user having a telephone terminal device can be a user (or a person subject to investigation) and can respond to a server device. When an original speech function is used during a system application, voice speech can be easily permitted between users.
