摘要： The invention relates to a frequency hopping method and a base station comprising at the receiver end a number of baseband processing means (122) and broadband receiver units (150, 160), which form RF sub-bands and receive frequency hopping signals according to a frequency hopping sequence from the RF sub-bands they have formed. The base station comprises at the receiver end a switching means (124) and channelling means (127), which receive baseband signals from an intermediate band and each of which is connected to a receiver unit (150, 160) forming a particular RF sub-band. 摘要： A signal generator (1) produces a spread-spectrum bandwidth signal in the frequency range 40 to 90KHz for use in a domestic mainsborne signalling system, In the generator, sixteen individual frequencies, equi-spaced in that range, pass to samplers (5) operating at a clock frequency of 204.8KHz and then to quantisers (6) before storage. The resultant signals are then assembled in appropriate manner by selector switch (9) before being filtered when (temporarily) in the frequency domain.
The resultant signals duly reach catalogue store (17), where output can be used for programming an EPROM in a mainsborne interface unit.

摘要： A system and method to provide cost effective, portable and convenient access to the Internet and other personal computer applications from any location within a predetermined distance from a desktop personal computer (PC). According to one aspect, a compact handheld terminal functions as a user interface device and communicates via an FM frequency hopped radio link with a base station which is located near and connected with the desktop PC. The handheld terminal allows home users to conveniently and remotely interface with their desktop PC with a freedom of movement similar to that of using a laptop PC while allowing an inexpensive network connection. The FM frequency hopped radio link carries the appropriate video, audio, keyboard and mouse signals between the desktop PC and the handheld terminal. The approach may be adapted to short range transfer of high quality video in a variety of applications.
