摘要： A D/A converter inputted with non-linear conversion digital data such as a digital signal encoded according to a µ-Law system or the like as it is to convert into an analog signal. A D/A converter is of resistor string type, in which a resistance value of each of resistors of a resistor string is not set uniform but weighted so that a non-linear relationship between an encoded input digital signal and an output analog signal is converted into a linear relationship. Consequently, a decode circuit for converting non-linear conversion digital data into linear conversion digital data is not required.

摘要： A digital to analog converter (DAC) can comprise: an escalator code generator; and an escalator-code-to-analog converter (ECAC). The generator can (1) represent base 10 numbers with a mixed code having a coin code portion and a cash code portion, which will eliminate multi-bit changes in the cash code upon changes in count direction; and (2) represent a count in a first direction as the sum of the coin code and the cash code. The generator can alter the coin code when the count changes direction while the cash code remains the same until a count capacity of the coin code is exceeded, at which point the cash code can be altered. Cycling between adjacent base 10 numbers is absorbed by the coin code while keeping the cash code the same, which reduces noise introduced into an output of the ECAC due to such cycling.

摘要： A drive voltage generating circuit outputs drive signals having voltage levels which is controlled by a second control signal is disclosed. A drive voltage generating circuit according to the present invention comprises drive output terminals for outputting drive signals having voltage levels, a bias circuit having a first voltage terminal to be applied to a first voltage and a second voltage terminal to be applied to a second voltage. The bias circuit produces voltage signals having the drive voltage levels. A drive voltage generating circuit according to the present invention further comprises a switching circuit having input terminals coupled to the bias circuit, output terminals coupled to the drive output terminals and a control terminal receiving a first control signal, a bias potential control circuit coupled between the second voltage terminal and a third voltage terminal to be applied to a third voltage. The bias potential control circuit includes a first voltage control circuit controlling a resistance value between the second and third voltage terminals in response to contrast data signals and a second voltage control circuit controlling the resistance value between the second and third voltage terminals in response to a second control signal.
