    • The present disclosure relates to a solid-state circuit breaker and a control method therefor. The solid-state circuit breaker comprises a solid-state switch, a first measurement unit, a second measurement unit, a control unit, and a driving unit. The first measurement unit is used to measure the current and/or voltage at a first terminal of the solid-state switch. The second measurement unit is used to measure the current and/or voltage at a second terminal of the solid-state switch. The control unit is used to: when the solid-state switch is turned off, determine, on the basis of the current and/or voltage at the first terminal, whether the first terminal is charged; in response to determining that the first terminal is not charged, determine, on the basis of the current and/or voltage at the second terminal, whether the second terminal is charged; in response to determining that the second terminal is charged, control the driving unit to input a pulse voltage to a control terminal of the solid-state switch, so that the solid-state switch is turned on corresponding to a pulse duration; and after the pulse duration has ended, determine the type of load connected to the first terminal of the solid-state switch on the basis of the change form of the current at the first terminal or the change form of the voltage at the first terminal.

    • A protection relay connection assembly (10) for connecting a current transformer (14) and/or a voltage transformer (16) of an electrical network (12) to a protection relay (18) is provided. The protection relay connection assembly (10) includes a protection relay data acquisition board (20) and a protection relay connector (22). The protection relay data acquisition board (20) includes a first current mating member (24) connectable to a current measurement sensor (28), the current measurement sensor (28) being connectable in use to the protection relay (18) and/or a first voltage mating member (26) connectable to a voltage measurement sensor (30), the voltage measurement sensor (30) being connectable in use to the protection relay (18). The protection relay connector (22) includes a second current mating member (36) connectable to the current transformer (14) and/or a second voltage mating member (38) connectable to the voltage transformer (16). The first current mating member (24) and the second current mating member (36) are selectively mateable with one another to permit a measured current waveform of the electrical network (12) to be transmitted from the current transformer (14) to the protection relay (18). The first voltage mating member (26) and the second voltage mating member (38) are shaped to be selectively mateable with one another to permit a measured voltage waveform of the electrical network (12) to be transmitted from the voltage transformer (16) to the protection relay (18). Wherein the first current mating member (24) is shaped to prevent mating of the first current mating member (24) with the second voltage mating member (38), and the first voltage mating member (26) is shaped to prevent mating of the first voltage mating member (26) with the second current mating member (36).

    • A system and method to detect arc faults in branch wiring. The system includes a line conductor and a neutral conductor. A circuit breaker is connected to an alternating current source via the line and neutral conductors. Electrical outlet devices are coupled to the circuit breaker via the line and neutral conductors. Each of the electrical outlet devices has a neutral shorting switching element coupled between the line and neutral conductors, and a load control switching element in the line conductor. The electrical outlet devices also each include an outlet controller to control the switching elements. The outlet controllers close the neutral shorting switching elements and the master controller determines if high impedance is present to detect a series arc fault. The outlet controllers open the load control switching elements and the master controller determines if any current is flowing on the line conductor to detect a parallel arc fault.
