摘要： Disclosed herein is a breaker interlock system. The system includes, a trip unit for a breaker, and a breaker receptive of the trip unit. The breaker is closable when the trip unit is assembled thereto and the breaker is non-closable when the trip unit is not assembled to the breaker. The interlock system is further configured to prevent disassembly of the trip unit from the breaker when the breaker is in a closed configuration. The breaker having a plurality of solenoids and each of the plurality of solenoids is in operable communication with the breaker to trip the breaker on command. A first of the plurality of solenoids is responsive to a signal from the breaker via the trip unit, and a second of the plurality of solenoids is responsive to an externally supplied signal from a source other than the electronic trip unit.

摘要： An insertion type circuit breaker comprises a trip rod (21) which actuates an on/off contactor for opening and closing a circuit carrying a load current and a trip mechanism for opening this on/off contactor, a lever (22) which acts on the trip rod (21) when a breaker main body (1) is inserted into a mount base (7) or removed from the mount base (7), an elastic member (23) which energizes this lever (22), and a lock mechanism part (30) which locks the lever (22) by resisting the energization force of the elastic member (23) when the breaker main body (1) is out of the mount base (7). Thus, this circuit breaker facilitates on/off check even when the breaker main body (1) is out of the mount base (7) and makes intrinsic trip actions when the breaker main body (1) is inside the mount base (7) with the trip rod (21) fixed, and when out of the mount base (7).

摘要： A circuit interrupter handle mechanism is disposed on the face of a molded case circuit breaker. The handle mechanism has a rotary handle, which may be rotated through approximately 90° of rotation from a disposition of circuit interrupter conduction to a disposition of circuit interrupter non-conduction. The handle is not centered over the linear handle of the circuit interrupter per say, but rather is disposed in the upper left hand corner, so that a larger lever arm can be utilized. Furthermore, the larger lever has a handle opening into which the hasp of a lock may be placed to lock the circuit breaker in the open state for servicing and the like. Because of the length of the handle more hasps can be disposed therein than if the handle was disposed exactly in the center of the circuit breaker case. Lastly, the disposition of the circuit breaker rotary handle provides an indication of the conduction status of the molded case circuit breaker. If the handle is in a generally horizontal position, i.e., straight across the front of the circuit interrupter, that is an indication that the contacts of the circuit interrupter are open and that current therefore is blocked. If on the other hand the handle is 90° displaced, in a rotational manner, to be parallel with the long longitudinal axis of the circuit interrupter, then an indication is given that the circuit interrupter contacts are closed and current is being conducted.

摘要： A molded case circuit breaker (10) is taught with a housing base (14) and a primary cover (18) disposed on the housing base. The primary cover has a recess (18X, 18Y) therein for an auxiliary module which is disposed in the recess. A secondary cover (22) is disposed on the primary cover for covering the recess when the auxiliary module is disposed therein. A combination manual trip and secondary cover interlock (23) is provided which is accessible from outside of the secondary cover for manually opening separable main contacts or for automatically opening separable main contacts when the secondary cover is removed. There is also provided on the back plane (400) of the housing a single piece DIN rail attachment (390) for securing the back plane to a DIN rail. There is provided an under voltage release mechanism (92X) for actuating the circuit breaker to trip on the occurrence of an under voltage condition of pre-determined magnitude across the lines served by the circuit interrupter. The under voltage release mechanism has an adjustment spring (348) which is controlled by a nut (344) or thumb screw on a shaft (360) to vary the spring force for calibrating the under voltage release mechanism. There is also provided a self-retaining collar member (400) for the load and line terminals of the circuit interrupter. The collar member comprises a locating protrusion (436) in the bottom thereof which aligns with a hole (71A) in the load or line conductors (71). Side entrapment members (440) which entrap the line or load conductor therebetween and between the bottom of the collar member are also provided.
