摘要： A magnetic head capable of preventing erosion of the magnetic metal film despite the absence of a protective film and suppressing the decrease in the playback output due to decrease in the track width while preventing cracking from being initiated and developed in the ferrite substrate. The magnetic head is prepared by forming magnetic core half blocks and by bonding the core half blocks by gap bonding using a fusion glass, each of the magnetic core half blocks being previously formed by stacking ferrite substrates 3, 5 on another ferrite substrate 4, 6, having magnetic metal films 1, 2 via glass films 10, 11 and forming track width adjustment grooves 18, 19. The glass transition temperature Tg of the glass employed for stacking the ferrite substrates is set so as to be higher than the glass yield point Tc of the fusion glass.

摘要： There is disclosed herein a magnetic head comprising a ring-like magnetic core composed of first and second magnetic core halves made of a ferrite and held in abutment against each other so as to form a magnetic gap therebetween and an elongated tape-contact surface extending across the magnetic gap. The magentic core has in the tape-contact surface a channel formed to as to extend in the direction across the magnetic gap and the channel is filled with a magnetic metal material having a high-saturation magnetization. Preferably, the channel has a substantially V-shaped cross section. The magenetic gap exposed on the tape-contact surface is surrounded by the magnetic metal material and non-magnetic glass members provided at both ends of the magnetic gap. The non-magnetic glass members are provided so that the track width is constant from the tape-contact surface to an upper end of a winding hole of the ring-like magnetic core.

摘要： A magnetic head for reading and/or writing data from and/or onto magnetic media comprises a core (11′) of ferromagnetic material, the core having a C-shaped portion (14′) and an I-shaped portion (12′) joined thereto. The C-shaped portion and I-shaped portion have confronting surfaces forming a gap (20′) therebetween. A coil (24′) induces magnetic flux in the core (11′). A first layer (22′) of magnetic material has a magnetic permeability greater than the ferromagnetic material of the confronting surface of the C-shaped portion forming the gap. An interface between the C-shaped portion and the first layer is substantially parallel to the gap. A second layer (42) of the magnetic material is deposited on an additional surface of the core. This second layer is integral with the first layer and overlaps the interface.
