Die Besonderheit der Flügelmechanik besteht darin, daß der obere Federschenkel (12) der Repetierfeder (9) an einer Repetierfederaufnahmerolle (21) anliegt, die an dem Repetierschenkel (5) befestigt und um die eigene Achse (22) drehbar gelagert ist.

    • A piano action (10) includes a wippen (14) having a wippen body (24). The wippen body (24) is pivotally mountable on a first rail (20) of a piano. A repetition lever (38) is pivotally mounted on the wippen body (24). A jack (46) is also pivotally mounted on the wippen body (24). A repetition lever spring (48) is interposed between the repetition lever (38) and the wippen body (24) and is pivotally mounted to the repetition lever (38). The repetition lever spring (48) has a first limb (54) which acts on the jack (46) for restoring the jack (46) to its rest position and a second limb (52) which acts on the repetition lever (38) for restoring the repetition lever (38) to its rest position. The second limb (52) is shorter than the first limb (54) such that a free end of the second limb (52) is out of engagement with the repetition lever (38) and is shaped and dimensioned to move together with the repetition lever (38). The first limb (54), when the wippen (14) is in its rest position, in use, is substantially rectilinear along its length.

    • A knuckle assembly for an escapement action (200) of a piano includes a knuckle (150), a jack retainer (204), and an adjustment means acting between the jack retainer (204) and the knuckle (150) for positioning the jack retainer (204) relative to the knuckle (150). The knuckle (150) is arranged for escape of the jack (120) from engagement with a knuckle surface during depression of a piano key (102). The jack retainer (204) retains the jack (120) in an "at rest" position with the jack (120) in engagement with the knuckle surface in opposition to force of a spring (160) urging the jack (120) toward the "at rest" position. A spring brake is adapted to be mounted to a repetition support (110) of an escapement action (200) of a piano for selective contact with a spring of the escapement action (200) in a manner to adjust the spring force urging a jack (120) of the escapement action(200) toward an "at rest" position.
