    • Einrichtung eignet sich zum Überwachen der gegenseitigen Lage von Teilen einer Vorrichtung, der Position von Vorrichtungen, wie Türen und Deckel, von Behältern, von Gebäuden oder von Fahrzeugen und/oder zum Überwachen der örtlichen Lage von derartigen Vorrichtungen.
      Die Einrichtung weist eine oder mehrere Sensoreinheiten (1) sowie eine oder mehrere Siegeleinheit (12) auf. Die Siegeleinheit (12) weist oder mehrere Leiterbahnen auf. Die Siegeleinheit (12) wird zwischen zu überwachenden Teilen und/oder zwischen Teilen und der Vorrichtung wie Behälter, Gebäude, Fahrzeug angebracht.
      Eine elektronische Überwachungseinheit (11), ist mit der oder den Siegeleinheiten (12) elektrisch und mechanisch verbunden.
      Weiter umfass die Einrichtung einen Sender (112) oder einen Sender-Empfänger (112). Die Überwachungseinheit (11) erzeugt ein Alarmsignal, wenn die Leiterbahn oder die Leiterbahnen einer Siegeleinheit (12) beschädigt, insbesondere unterbrochen ist, und/oder wenn die Vorrichtung mit der Sensoreinheit (1) einen vorgegebenen örtlichen Bereich verlässt.
      Die Einrichtung umfasst weiter eine Relaisstation (2) mit einem Empfänger (21) für Signale (31) der Sensoreinheit (11). Die Relaisstation weist eine Auswerteeinheit (22) zum Verarbeiten und/oder zum Weiterleiten von Alarmsignalen (35) an Geräte (26) zum Empfangen der Alarmsignale (35) der Sensoreinheit (1), bzw. der Relaisstation (2).

    • A security device comprises a cable (102) whose ends (104) are engageable within a plunger (108). The cable is threaded around a door handle or other item to be secured and then, with the cable ends (104) engaged therein, the plunger (108) is slid within a housing (110) for retention by a locking slide (112). Retraction of the plunger (108) into the housing moves a slide (48) upwardly. This movement causes a pivotally mounted striker (38) to be flipped from one end position to another by an over-centre spring arrangement (58). In moving, the striker (38) strikes a number of wheels (32) each carrying a sequence of numbers. The wheels are rotated and a random number is displayed. If, subsequently, the plunger (108) is released to release the cable, the wheels (32) are struck again by the striker (38) whereby the displayed number is changed. The number is changed again if the plunger (108) is repositioned. The chance of the same number being randomly generated is insignificant. Thus, any opening and closing of the security device is immediately apparent because of the change in the number displayed.

The cord (14) has a series of regularly spaced enlargements (36), and the interior of the housing (12) has a plurality of teeth (4()) arranged so that when a length of cord (14) at its free end is inserted into the housing (12) the enlargements (36) can fit between the teeth (4()) to hold the cord (14) against withdrawal from the housing (12). A slide (16) is movable in the housing (12) between an open position in which the cord (14) can be inserted into and withdrawn from the housing (12) and a locking position in which it retains the enlargements (36) in engagement with the teeth (40). The switch (70) has an actuating member (72) projecting into the space between two of the teeth (40), so that the switch is actuated when the length of cord (14) is moved into or out of engagement with the teeth (40). The fixed end of the cord (14) is connected permanently to the housing (12) by engagement of enlargements (36) on the cord (14) with a further set of teeth in the housing (12). The cord (14) is held in engagement with the further teeth by the slide (16), when the slide (16) is in the open or locking position. The slide (16) is movable from a third position in which the fixed end of the cord (14) can be inserted into the housing (12) before the seal is first used, but is then prevented from being moved back to the third position.
