    • The present invention relates to an identification code processing system, an identification code processing method thereof, and an apparatus for supporting the same. The present invention supports various multi-codes for a specified object to be generated using a terminal and additional information of the object to be collected, integrated, and shared by applying the generated multi-codes online and offline. A terminal recognizes a base identification code of an object, and generates and stores or transmits multi-codes on the basis of base identification information included in the base identification code. In addition, a service apparatus classifies and stores the multi-codes transmitted by the terminal, and supports the multi-codes to be circulated in at least one network device and to be regenerated as multi-codes including various additional information.

    • A bar code scanning and labeling apparatus for generating a modified bar code dataform incorporating data selected from a bar code scanned and decoded by the apparatus and additional data is disclosed. The apparatus includes a microprocessor including data selection circuitry adapted to retrieve the selected data and to assemble the retrieved selected data into a format suitable for encoding. The apparatus further includes a scan engine electrically coupled to the microprocessor and, upon actuation, adapted to scan a bar code dataform. Encoding/decoding circuitry electrically coupled to the microprocessor is provided. The apparatus further includes interface means coupled to the microprocessor for specifying the selected data to be incorporated in the modified bar code dataform, the selected data including at least a portion of the decoded data from the scanned bar code dataform and additional data. The apparatus also includes communication means electrically coupled to the microprocessor for transmitting data to and receiving data from a remote device and data storage means electrically coupled to the microprocessor for storing the decoded data from the scanned bar code and data received from the remote device. A method of providing a modified bar code dataform for a product having a bar code dataform associated with it in accordance with this invention comprises the steps of: scanning the product's bar code dataform; selecting data to comprise the modified bar code dataform, the selected data including scanned data developed by the scanning step and additional data; and utilizing the selected data to produce the modified bar code dataform.

    • According to the present invention, there is provided a hand scanner having an optical reader portion for reading data optically, a memory portion for storing the data read by the optical reader portion, and a light emitting portion for outputting the data stored in the memory portion as a light signal, and also provided is a printer comprising, in a successively connected arrangement, a light receiving portior for receiving the light signal emitted from the light emitting portion of the hand scanner, an opto-electro transducer means for converting the light signal received by the light receiving portion into an electric signal, a printing control portion for controlling printing in accordance with the electric signal obtained by the opto-electro transducer means, and a printing portion for making printing on a label in accordance with the control made by the printing control portion.
