    • A lens shape data processing apparatus and a lens grinding machine having the same apparatus in which the lens shape data reading out and the layout setting work for another spectacle lens can be conducted during the lens edge measurement or the grinding process is provided. The lens shape processing apparatus comprises a memory 33 for storing a plurality of lens shape information for the spectacle frame measured by a frame reader 2, a liquid crystal display unit 7 including an image display section 7b for displaying the lens shape based on the lens shape information and an operation contents display section 7c for displaying items for switching a plurality of screens, a plurality of keys corresponding to the items of the operation contents display section 7c, and an arithmetic control circuit 31 for setting the data for grinding an unprocessed lens into a lens shape based on the lens shape information, wherein the keys are used both to switch to a screen for selecting and accessing one of the lens shape information stored in the memory 33, and to access the preceding lens shape information and the next lens shape information or new lens shape information.

    • Method and device by which spectacle lenses, produced according to order data, are automatically adapted to a predetermined spectacle frame and by which the edges are worked to an exact fit by means of at least one CNC machine which has an input interface and is used to work the edges of spectacle lenses, said method comprising the following steps: 1. Entering into a computer the PD values for the left eye and right eye according to the order data, 2. Entering into the computer the centration height for the left eye and right eye according to the order data, 3. Entering into the computer the optical values of the left eye and right eye according to the order data and, if given, entering into the computer the position of a near portion or of a progressive power channel, 4. Entering into the computer the uncut lens diameter and the position of the optical centre and/or the uncut lens dimensions in the case of non circular uncut lenses, and, if given, entering into the computer the position of the optical centre in relation to the geometric centre of pre-decentred circular or noncircular uncut lenses, 5. Entering into the computer the shape data of the frame edges of the predetermined spectacle frame, 6. arithmetic superposition, by the computer, of the shape data of the left and right frame edges and of the left and right uncut lens according to the PD values, the centration height of the respective optical centre, the axis setting of a cylindrical component and/or the base setting of a prismatic component, the optical effect, and, if given, the setting of a near portion or progressive power channel.
