摘要： To improve the termination of a fiber optic cable, disclosed is an overboot assembly for a fiber optic terminus that retains a terminal end of the fiber optic cable in a receptacle. The overboot assembly provides strain relief to the fiber optic cable. Also, the overboot includes a removal member that is not separable from a fiber optic assembly of the fiber optic cable, the terminus and the overboot. The removal member may be advanced longitudinally relative to the terminus to manipulate a retaining member in the receptacle that latches the terminus in a connected state with the receptacle. Manipulation of the retaining member unlatches the terminus so that the terminus may be removed from the receptacle.

The first and second tooth portions extend into the opening of the spring and the convex surfaces thereof come in contact with the inner sides of the spring. The spring push comes in contact with the rear end of the spring to push the spring toward the spring seat.

摘要： The present invention relates to an optical fibre connector, and in particular to a Subscriber Connector (SC) -type push/pull optical fibre connector and to a method of forming and using such a connector. The SC-type optical fibre connector (101) comprises an optical fibre (8), a cylindrical ferrule (14), a ferrule holder (16), a spring biasing means (17), a ferrule holder carrier (50), an inner housing (120), and an outer housing (40). The optical fibre (8) is held within the ferrule (14) along an axis (5) of the ferrule, the optical fibre (8) being terminated at an end face (34) of the ferrule. The ferrule holder and carrier are relatively moveable with respect to each other along the axis between limits defined by an interaction between the carrier and the holder. The inner housing (120) is fixedly connected to the ferrule holder carrier (50). The inner housing (120) has a receptacle for a socket to receive a projecting ferrule portion. The spring biasing means (17) is provided between the ferrule holder (16) and the ferrule holder carrier (50) so that the projecting portion of the ferrule is spring biased along the ferrule axis (5) towards the receptacle portion of the inner housing (120). The optical fibre connector sub-assembly (60) is mechanically integral prior to assembly of the inner and outer housings (120, 40) about the sub-assembly. The radially outermost surfaces of the sub-assembly (60) define a cylindrical envelope of the sub-assembly. The ferrule holder carrier (50) has a groove (78) in the envelope and the inner housing (120) has a radially inwardly projecting feature for locating with the groove when the inner housing is assembled to the optical fibre connector sub-assembly (60).

摘要： A connector-equipped plug which has a built-in connector to be inserted into and connected to an adaptor inside a receptacle and is to be connected to the receptacle includes an inner housing that is located on a rear end side in an insertion direction of the connector to hold the connector and has a plurality of protrusions formed on an outer peripheral surface, a spring that pushes the inner housing in the insertion direction, and a tubular outer shell member that has a plurality of recesses formed in an inner peripheral surface. The connector has a tapered shape on a distal end side in the insertion direction, and the recesses are each formed such that the recess decreases gradually in width in the insertion direction and such that a bottom surface gradually approaches a central axis of the outer shell member. The inner housing is positioned by being pushed by the spring to fit the protrusions in distal end sides of the respective recesses and is tiltable while the protrusions fit in the recesses. Even if positional accuracy of an adaptor inside a receptacle is low, the connector-equipped plug can be connected without trouble.
