L'agencement comprend un filet (1) d'une résistance à la traction très élevée, destiné à être tendu en travers du passage d'eau. Le bord inférieur du filet (1) est ancré au fond de la mer et le filet peut être activé d'un état passif, dans lequel il peut être posé sur le fond marin, à un état actif de barrière. A cet effet, le bord supérieur du filet (1) est relié à un tuyau (3) de levage gonflable et dégonflable qui, lorsqu'il est dégonflé est essentiellement plat et lorsqu'il est gonflé, est capable de soulever le bord supérieur du filet en direction de la surface de l'eau, de manière à tendre le filet entre le fond marin et la surface.     • In one aspect, the present invention provides a security bulwark (1) for mounting outside a perimeter railing of a vessel or marine installation. The bulwark has a front face (2) comprising a projecting mound (3a, 3b). The mound has an underside (4a, 4b) which provides the bulwark with an overhang. The mound is also convex in a direction (A-A') of the breadth of the bulwark (1). The invention also provides a perimeter protection system comprising a plurality of such security bulwarks arranged side-by-side and adjacent to each other. Finally, the invention further provides a method of protecting a perimeter of a vessel or marine installation. The method comprises positioning a plurality of security bulwarks side-by-side and adjacent to each other along a perimeter railing of a vessel or marine installation, attaching some of the plurality of security bulwarks to the railing, and connecting remaining ones of the plurality of security bulwarks which are not attached to the railing to ones of the plurality of security bulwarks which are attached to the railing. Thus even if a security bulwark (1) cannot be mounted directly to the perimeter railing, for example because of a gap in the railing or an obstruction in the way of the railing, the bulwark can still be positioned in the same location outside the railing and securely mounted in that location by being connected to an adjacent security bulwark which can be mounted to the perimeter railing.

    • FIG. 7 shows an air cannon system loaded with a launch canister containing a prop-fouler. A pressure vessel (28) contains an inlet including a poppet valve (100) that, upon command, can be selectively placed in either a one-way flow position to permit charging of the pressure vessel or otherwise opened to trigger rapid discharge through pressure equalization with the ambient environment. The air cannon may include multiple splayed barrels or a single barrel (158). A launch canister (202), realized in the form of a tube, has a driving plate (350) that closes an end of the launch tube. The driving plate is the first point loaded into the barrel. Within the launch canister (202) a first portion of a floating prop-fouling line is stored. The prop-fouling line, such as made from Dyneema®, has at its ends two drogues that, upon entry into the water, fill with water to produce drag resistance to movement of the prop-fouling line. To avoid undue stress on canopy panels of each drogue and to avoid twisting of shroud lines (312) to the canopy, a rotating shackle (310a, 310b) acts as a coupling point between the shroud lines (312) and the prop-fouling line. Only one drogue (306), its associated coupling and a selected length prop-fouling line are loaded into the launch canister, with the other drogue and its rotating shackle (310b) loaded into a cradle (166). Upon firing, gas expansion causes the rapid acceleration and ejection of the launch tube (202) and generally straight line deployment of the prop-fouling line (302).
