    • Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum aerostatischen Trennen der offenen Feuerstelle eines Wohnraum-Kamins von der Umgebung mittels eines Luftvorhangs (f), dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Luftvorhang (f) mittels eines im geschlossenen Kreislauf zirkulierenden Luftstroms erzeugt wird, zu welchem keine wesentliche Luftzufuhr aus der Umgebung erfolgt.
      Die Vorrichtung zum Ausüben des erfindungsgemässen Verfahrens ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass auf zwei einander gegenüberliegenden Seiten der nach vorne gegen den Raum hin gerichteten Öffnung des Kamins mindestens eine Blasöffnung (8) und mindestens eine Absaugöffnung (9) vorhanden sind, die Luft über die ganze Breite der Öffnung ausblasen bzw. absaugen, wobei die Blasöffnung (8) mit der Absaugöffnung (9) über einen geschlossenen Verbindungskanal (10) verbunden ist, in welchem ein Ventilator (11) wirkt, der die Luft in dem im Wesentlichen geschlossenen Kreislauf umwälzt. Die Varianten sehen alle Arten von geschlossenem Kreislauf vor, die einen möglichst laminaren Luftvorhang vor der vorderen Öffnung der Feuerstelle erzeugen können, um dabei die Luftverluste des zirkulierenden Luftstroms möglichst gering zu halten, und den Luftvorhang so gleichmässig als möglich auszubilden.
