摘要： An adjustable light for a medical environment comprises a first housing adapted for engagement with a handle of an overhead light, a second housing including a lamp operatively connected to a power source for generating illuminating light, and a flexible shaft extending between and interconnecting the first housing at a proximal end of the shaft and the second housing at a distal end of the shaft. The first housing is adapted to be releasably coupled to the handle of the overhead light over a work area such that the flexible arm and the second housing are selectively movable relative to the first housing toward a target in the work area for illuminating the target.

摘要： Light fixtures (100, 200, 400, 500, 600, 700) are provided, including a lighting element (10, 20, 40, 50, 60, 70), an oriented crosslinked semi-crystalline polymer (12, 22, 42, 52, 62, 72) disposed adjacent to or connected to the lighting element, and a control mechanism (14, 24, 44, 64, 74). The control mechanism is in electrical communication with the lighting element (10, 20, 40, 50, 60, 70) and controls an energy output of the lighting element and a temperature of the oriented crosslinked semi-crystalline polymer (12, 22, 42, 52, 62, 72). Typically, when the control mechanism changes the temperature of the oriented crosslinked semi-crystalline polymer, the shape of the polymer changes. A method of making a light fixture (100, 200, 400, 500, 600, 700) is also provided. The method includes providing a lighting element (10, 20, 40, 50, 60, 70), forming a crosslinked semi-crystalline polymer (12, 22, 42, 52, 62, 72), and disposing the crosslinked semi-crystalline polymer adjacent to the lighting element (10, 20, 40, 50, 60, 70) or connecting the crosslinked semi-crystalline polymer to the lighting element. The method further includes electrically connecting a control mechanism (14, 24, 44, 64, 74) with the lighting element.

By utilizing the suspension structure itself as flow guiding structure cooling can be integrated in a cost efficient way. Further, no additional space is required to accommodate the flow guiding structure.

摘要： A light attachment (20) that can be readily mounted on a variety of tools (10) and tool support fixtures and other support structures includes a light portion supported on a mounting portion by a flexible gooseneck cable (24). The mounting portion (26) includes a housing that defines a male-female attachment element (36) configured to slidingly mate with a complementary attachment element (36) formed on the body (14) of the power tool. In a preferred embodiment, the attachment element (36) has a dovetail shape for sliding engagement within a complementary shaped notch in the body (14) of the tool. The housing contains a power source (57) for the light portion (22). The light portion (22) incorporates an on-off switch (67) that is actuated by rotating a component (75) that is threadedly engaged within the housing (63). The housing (63) supports a printed circuit board (65) to which the power supply wires (66) are attached. The circuit board (65) also carries a spring contact switch element (67) that completes an electrical circuit to energize the light portion (22) when the spring contact is pressed against the circuit board (65). Power is supplied through the circuit board (65) and switch (67) to an LED light element (70). The LED (70) is disposed within the housing (63) so that the rotatate component (75) can push the base of the LED (72) into the spring switch to close the electrical circuit.
