    • A purpose is to improve storability of a plurality of connection pieces coupled together bendably. A robot arm mechanism includes a rotary joint and a linear extension and retraction joint (J3). The linear extension and retraction joint includes a plurality of first connection pieces (23) coupled together bendably and provided with a hollow square cross section and a plurality of second connection pieces (22) coupled together bendably and each shaped like a flat plate. The first connection pieces are joined to the second connection pieces in upper part of the first connection pieces, thereby forming a columnar body (2) by constraining bending. The columnar body is relaxed when the first connection pieces and the second connection pieces are separated from each other. An ejection section (32) forms the columnar body by joining the first connection pieces to the second connection pieces and supports the columnar body. The plurality of first connection pieces are coupled together at an upper part and a lower part of each piece to be folded in a zigzag pattern and stored in a base (1) with top faces of adjacent first connection pieces folded on top of each other and bottom faces of adjacent first connection pieces folded on top of each other alternately.

    • The invention concerns a linear actuator capable of transmitting tractive forces as well as thrust forces and operating then as a rigid single-piece rod. The invention is characterised in that it comprises two identical actuating belts (1, 1') with notches on each of their sides (10, 10'; 11, 11') and provided on one first side (10, 10') with uniformly spaced blocks (2, 2') which mesh with drive members (3) such that the two actuating belts (1, 1') are independent upstream of the drive members (3), whereas downstream of said members, they are integrally assembled so as to define a section extending along a straight line wherein the linear actuator operates like a single-piece rigid rod.

    • A door or window operator comprises a motor-driven double-chain operator with two chain members (21, 22) which in a substantially closed operator housing are both separately in engagement with a rotating drive member (11, 12) and may be joined in a back-to-back arrangement for the provision of a rigid operator member. The chain members (21, 22) are composed of chain links (18) having hinge parts (19, 20) with parallel rotational axes (25, 26) oriented transversely to the direction of propagation of the chain member for engagement with neighbouring chain links in the same chain member and having a back surface (27) provided with zip-like engagement members (32) for engaging corresponding engagement members on the back surfaces of adjacent chain links (18) in the other chain member for securing the chain members in the joined operator member against displacement transversely to the opening/closing direction. The hinge parts (19, 20) of the chain links (18) are designed such that during the propagation of the chain members (18) in the operator housing a mutual displacement is allowed between neighbouring chain links (18) in the chain members (21, 22) in the direction of the rotational axes (25, 26) and the separate chain paths (3, 6) extend only in a part (2) of the housing in a plane (9) common with the outlet openings (5, 7).
