In order to devise an expansion anchor (101) by means of which a high retaining force can be transmitted even in soft, porous structural materials, according to the invention the secondary expansion tongue (110) is movable in the radial direction in such a way that, in an expanded state, the secondary expansion tongue (110) substantially completely fills an opening (109), present between the primary expansion tongues (102), in the circumferential surface (103) of the expansion anchor (101).
