The impeller unit (10) is supported floating inside the diffuser unit (20). A shim ring (40) is associated with the impeller unit (10) and is sustained in sliding support on a washer (27) housed in a fixed position in a correspondent seat (26) of the diffuser unit (20) of an adjacent pump stage.

The bounding element (12) has an outer sealing surface (14) and the terminating element (13) has an inner sealing surface (15). The outer sealing surface (15) and the inner sealing surface (14) are arranged in such a way that sealing of the high pressure chamber (11) is achieved via contact of the two sealing surfaces (14, 15). According to the invention, the bounding element (12) is configured in such a way that, on account of a pressure in the high pressure chamber (11), a force can act on the outer sealing surface (14) in the direction of the inner sealing surface (15). A sealing function is therefore also achieved when the terminating element (13) is deformed on account of the pressure in the high pressure chamber (11). The seal arrangement according to the invention can be used particularly advantageously in pumps.

摘要： An electrical machine to facilitate transporting fluids through a pipeline is provided. The machine includes a stator (122), a rotor (120) magnetically coupled to the stator, and a housing (106) enclosing the rotor and the stator. The housing includes a wall (162) that facilitates channeling a first fluid at a first pressure through a portion (105) of the housing. The machine also includes a stator enclosure (200) defined by at least one wall that facilitates maintaining a second fluid within the stator enclosure. The stator enclosure is positioned within the electric machine housing. The stator enclosure has at least one wall that substantially isolates the second fluid from the first fluid such that only the second fluid is in flow communication with the stator. The stator enclosure has at least one wall that facilitates heat transfer from the second fluid to the first fluid. At least a portion of at least one of the stator enclosure walls is configured to facilitate equalizing the first pressure and the second pressure.
