    • A vane liner (100) for use in a vane pump (90) has a vane liner body defining an inner bore for providing a cam surface in a vane pump. The cam surface has a suction opening (102) formed through the body at one circumferential extent, and a discharge opening (104) through the body at a distinct circumferential extent. A pre-pressurization opening (106) extends through the body at a location upstream of an upstream end of the discharge opening, but spaced by at least 90 degrees from a downstream end of the suction opening. A vane pump (90) incorporating the above-discussed liner is also claimed. Further, a vane pump (90) is also disclosed and claimed having the spacing from the downstream end of the suction opening (102) at least X degrees wherein X equals 360 divided by N, N being the number of vanes in the vane pump.

    • The invention relates to a control device for positive displacement pumps, consisting of a throttle device (20) and a flow control valve (18). The flow control valve (18) is provided with a flow control piston (21) and regulates an unrequired excess flow to the pump at an increased speed. The throttle device (20) produces a speed-related pressure differential in a bore section (17A), said pressure differential being responsible for the displacement of the flow control valve (18) and the throttle device (20). The throttle device (20) is placed in the pressure outlet (bore section 17A) of the pump and contains a regulating pin (27) which is connected to the flow control piston (21), having a control contour which is embodied in such a way that a modifiable through cross-section is created in association with a throttle bore (28). The control pin (27) has a wider section (34) in an axial displacement area of the throttle device (20), said area not being involved in control of the volume flow, whereby a minimum obturating section arises in the displacement area. This results in accelerated movement of the flow control piston (21), which in turn results in quicker reaction of the control mechanism, thereby preventing an overshoot and overincrease in the flow capacity.

    • The invention relates to a pump for delivering a fluid, especially a vane-cell pump, comprising a delivery device which is accommodated in a casing (2), a casing cover (3) located on the face, and optionally comprising a bearing flange (4) which is joined to the casing (2) on the side opposite said casing cover (3). A seal (5, 6) is arranged between the casing (2) and the casing cover (3) and is optionally arranged between the casing (2) and the bearing flange (4). In addition, the seal (5, 6) is inserted in a groove (8, 9) which is constructed in the casing cover (3) and which is optionally constructed in the bearing flange (4) and/or in the corresponding front face (7) of the casing (2). A leakage path (13) for the fluid extends between the delivery side (11) and the suction side (12). According to the invention, oil leakage located on the delivery side is effectively carried away while procedures relating to the construction or manufacturing techniques of the pump are reduced. The invention is characterized in that the leakage path (13) runs at least parallel, in areas, with regard to the seal (5, 6) on the seal inner side (14) - media side.

    • Apparatus for limiting the fluid volume output in a hydraulic pump of the type including a by-pass valve. The by- pass valve is disposed within a portion of the pump housing (15) which extends axially into the fluid reservoir (19) and defines a pair of by-pass ports. The pump is preferably balanced and includes a pair of diametrically opposed inlet kidney ports. A tubular member (111, 113) is used to direct a portion of the by-pass fluid from each of the by-pass ports toward the adjacent inlet kidney. Each of the tubular members is disposed to direct the by-pass flow axially into the inlet kidney, thus improving filling of the pumping pockets, and reducing cavitation and the resultant noise.
