摘要： An emission reduction device which may be removably affixed to an engine's exhaust system. The device comprises a cylindrical carcass with a beveled opening in a diagonal line in its proximal part A bobbin is affixed in the distal portion of the carcass. A cylindrical-shaped fibrous blanket may be inserted in the carcass and the fibrous blanket may be wrapped in a wire mesh. A second fiber mesh formed into a cone may be removably inserted in the cylindrical-shaped fibrous blanket with the larger diameter of the cone positioned proximally.

At least the internal peripheral surface of the internal portion, and optionally the external peripheral surface of the external portion, (2a) is impregnated with a friction/adhesion controlling agent (3) such that the coefficient of friction between the external peripheral surface and the casing (4) is lower than the coefficient of friction between the internal peripheral surface and the pollution control element (1). The friction/adhesion controlling agent (3) can decompose and dissipate under operating conditions of the pollution control element (1).

摘要： The invention relates to an internal combustion engine comprising at least one line system for secondary air. A module body comprises a portion of the lines (25, 30, 35), a portion of the actuating valves (26a, 31, 26b), and check valves (27). The throttle valve (13) and its actuator (36) are additionally integrated in said module. A line section (14) which is part of the intake system (11) is also integrated in the module. The admissions of the lines (35, 30) are easily realized in said line section. The line (30) is intended for recirculating exhaust gas. It is also possible to partially realize the depicted idea with regard to integration. It is also possible to simultaneously utilize the supply line (29) in the exhaust (21) of the internal combustion engine as a bleed line for the exhaust gas. All of these measures are suited for reducing the installation space and the number of components for the internal combustion engine, whereby they yield very economical solutions.

Um einen Abgasschalldämpfer zu schaffen, der sich sowohl der Vorteile des Werkstoffes Aluminium als auch der Vorteile der bekannten oberflächengeschützten Stahlwerk stoffe bedient und Kosten- und Gewichtseinsparungen bei gleichzeitig erhöhter Lebenserwartung erzielt, ist die Innen konstruktion (zB 10) als allein tragendes Konstruktionsele ment ausgebildet, während das aus Aluminium bzw. einer Aluminiumlegierung bestehende Außengehäuse (20; 40) eine ausschließlich den Funnktionsraum des Abgasschall dämpfers abgrenzende Hülle bildet, die sich auf der tragen den Innenkonstruktion (zB 10) abstützt.
Ein besonders günstiges Verfahren zur Herstellung eines doppelschichtigen Außengehäuses aus zwei verschiedenen Aluminiumlegierungen besteht darin, daß die Doppelschicht zweier Al-Legierungen durch Verpressen (Kaltfließ pressen) einer aus einem plattierten Material gefertigten Butze erzeugt wird.
