摘要： A circular knit two-layer upholstery fabric is provided which has stability and limited stretchability in both coursewise and walewise directions to meet established industry standards. The fabric includes a first layer knit of thermoplastic base yarn (B) and forming stitch loops in wales (W-1 to W-6) of successive courses (C-1 to C-9) to provide a technical face side. A second layer is formed of lay-in yarn (L) extending generally coursewise and in a sinuous manner along the juncture of the stitch loops of certain courses of the first layer and provides a techincal back side constituting the exposed wear surface of the fabric. The lay-in yarn (L) is in the range of two to ten times larger than the base yarn (B) so that the lay-in yarn substantially covers the base yarn and provides the tactile characteristics, appearance and hand of the lay-in yarn constituting the exposed wear surface of the fabric.

摘要： A circular knitting machine (10) has sinkers (16) arranged for radially reciprocating around an upper portion of a cylinder, and latch needles (18) arranged around the upper portion's perimeter for reciprocating along the axis of the cylinder. Selected ones of the needles draw down a lay-in yarn (12) while the sinkers between the selected needles remain in a pushed forward position, so that the lay-in yarn overrides the nibs (14) of the sinkers. In a preferred embodiment, each fourth needle, and only each fourth needle, is selected to draw down a lay-in yarn, and four sinkers are positioned between each adjacent pair of the selected needles so that the lay-in yarn overrides four nibs between each draw down. The selected and non-selected needles engage jersey yarns (20) at other knitting stations. This circular knitting machine can be adapted from existing knitting machines.

MEANS: A dropped stitch preventive tool (thread keeper) (5) used in a double knit circular knitting machine for quilt knitting, having a first guide surface (53) for preventing a knitting yarn from deflecting in the radial direction of the circular knitting machine and coming off the guide surface, and a second guide surface (54) for preventing the knitting yarn from deflecting in the vertical direction and coming off the guide surface. The first guide surface (53) is located between a yarn carrier (4) and a cylinder needle (1) for capturing a yarn fed from the yarn carrier (4), so that the yarn fed from the feeder maintains the substantially same feed angle. The lower side of the second guide surface (54) extends substantially parallel to a needle dial (D) and prevents the yarn from being routed to the back of the cylinder needle (1).

摘要： A jacquard fabric for a mattress ticking to be used for a bedding mattress and a method for knitting this jacquard fabric are provided. The method according to the present invention is a method for producing a jacquard fabric for a mattress ticking using a double-sided needle selection circular knitting machine of a rib gating type, the method by which an arbitrary pattern is created by means of computer-based needle selection on a cylinder side, an arbitrary pattern is also created by means of computer-based needle selection on a dial side, and an arbitrary knitting structure is made in an arbitrary part by combining the pattern obtained on the cylinder side with the pattern obtained on the dial side. As a result of employing an irregular twill pattern as a background knitting structure serving as a base, a stretchable fabric that has a soft texture, a tight knitting structure, and strength similar to that of woven fabric is obtained.
