摘要： A method includes treating a first brine stream including a plurality of minerals with an anti-scalant to produce a treated brine. The first brine stream is provided by a wastewater treatment system. The method also includes directing the treated brine to a first nanofiltration (NF) system disposed downstream from and fluidly coupled to the wastewater treatment system, generating a first NF permeate stream and a first NF non-permeate stream from the treated brine in the first NF system, directing the first NF non-permeate stream to a mineral removal system disposed downstream from and fluidly coupled to the first NF system, and removing the plurality of minerals from the first NF non-permeate stream to generate a first overflow stream in the mineral removal system. The first overflow stream comprises at least a portion of the plurality of minerals. The method also includes routing a first portion of the first overflow stream to a hydrochloric acid (HCl) and sodium hydroxide (NaOH) production system disposed downstream from and fluidly coupled to the mineral removal system. The HCl and NaOH production system includes a second NF system that may receive the first portion of the first overflow stream and may generate a second brine stream from the first portion of the first overflow stream. The method further includes directing the second brine stream to a first electrodialysis (ED) system disposed within the HCl and NaOH production system and fluidly coupled to the second NF system. The first ED system may generate HCl and NaOH from the second brine stream.

摘要： A rare earth metal extractant containing, as the extractant component, dialkyldiglycol amide acid which is excellent in breaking down light rare earth elements is reacted in diglycolic acid (X mol) and an esterification agent (Y mol) at a reaction temperature of 70°C or more and for a reaction time of one hour or more such that the mol ratio of Y/X is 2.5 or more, and is subjected to vacuum concentration. Subsequently, a reaction intermediate product is obtained by removing unreacted products and reaction residue, and an aprotic polar solvent is added as the reaction solvent. Then, the reaction intermediate product is reacted with dialkyl amine (Z mol) such that the mol ratio of Z/X is 0.9 or more and the aprotic polar solvent is removed. As a consequence, a rare earth metal extractant is efficiently synthesized at a low cost and at a high yield without having to use expensive diglycolic acid anhydride and harmful dichloromethane.

摘要： Disclosed herein is a method of effectively extracting metal ions by sonication from red med that is waste remaining after extracting aluminum from bauxite. The method comprises the steps of: (a) introducing, into a reactor placed in a constant-temperature tank, (1) a neutralized red mud slurry and an acidic solution or (2) red mud slurry, distilled water and an acidic solution, to form a red mud slurry, and heating the constant-temperature tank to allow the red mud slurry to react while sonicating the red mud slurry, thereby extracting metal ions from the red mud; and (b) filtering a product resulting from step (a) to provide a filtrate and a red mud residue, and separating and recovering the filtrate and the red mud residue, wherein the sonication in step (a) is performed using an ultrasonic generator by applying ultrasonic waves to an ultrasonic tip placed in the constant-temperature tank.

摘要： A process for producing KNO3 from polyhalite is disclosed. In a preferred embodiment, the process comprises steps of (a) contacting polyhalite with HNO3; (b) adding Ca(OH)2 to the solution, thereby precipitating as CaSO4 at least part of the sulfate present in said solution; (c) precipitating as Mg(OH)2 at least part of the Mg2+ remaining in said solution by further addition of Ca(OH)2 to the remaining solution; (d) concentrating the solution, thereby precipitating as a sulfate compound at least part of the sulfate remaining in solution; (e) separating at least part of the NaCl from the solution remaining; and (f) crystallizing as solid KNO3 at least part of the K+ and NO3- contained in the solution. The process enables direct conversion of polyhalite to KNO3 of purity exceeding 98.5% and that is essentially free of magnesium and sulfate impurities.

Particularly, the alkali metal generating agent contains at least an oxidizer comprising at least one tungstate with an alkali metal ion as a counter cation, and a reducer for reducing the ion.
