    • In a method for controlling a heat-treatment installation for the heat treatment of steel strip which comprises at least one annealing furnace and has at least one open-loop and/or closed-loop control device, by means of which the heat treatment of a steel strip proceeding in the heat-treatment installation is controlled on an open-loop or closed-loop basis to maintain at least one desired material property, in particular a mechanical property, wherein the open-loop and/or closed-loop control device preferably comprises a model-predictive control which makes it possible to predict or precalculate the at least one mechanical property of the steel strip after it has passed through the heat treatment and in which input data which comprise at least one value selected from the group of data concerning the annealing cycle and/or the data of the steel strip to be heat treated and/or the data of a cold-rolling process and/or the data with respect to the placement of cuts of a previous strip and/or the data concerning one or more prior processes that the steel strip to be heat-treated has passed through are processed for setting or controlling at least one manipulated variable of the current annealing or heat-treatment process or cycle, it is intended to provide a solution that makes it possible to achieve an improvement in the control system response. This is achieved by providing that, in the case where the at least one manipulated variable is changed in the course of the current annealing or heat treatment cycle from an initial value to an end value, this manipulated variable is reset at the beginning of the next-following annealing or heat-treatment cycle to its initial value in the current annealing or heat-treatment cycle.
