    • The invention relates to a method of manufacturing successive spherical glass articles, in each of which is accommodated a three-dimensional object or figurine, which method comprises the following steps, to be performed in a suitable sequence, of: (a) providing a container with a mass of molten glass, which container comprises a discharge opening through which liquid glass can be delivered; (b) providing thermally resistant figurines; (c) wholly enclosing successively at least one figurine by molten glass; (d) portioning the molten glass before or after step (c) such that molten glass masses are formed, in each of which a figurine is embedded; and (e) modelling these masses to a spherical form by substantially omnidirectional rolling for a time with simultaneous cooling so that the glass solidifies. According to the invention molten glass is fed to the figurine from at least two sides. The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing an object of glass with at least one three-dimensional figurine enclosed therein, comprising the following steps: introducing an amount of glass having a desired temperature, at which the glass is soft, into a mould cavity; pressing a heated figurine into the glass; pressing the amount of glass with the heated figurine therein substantially to a desired shape.

    • A glass delivery system including a first forehearth (30) having an orifice, a second forehearth (34) having an orifice, a bottom pan assembly (32) adapted to be positioned underneath the orifice of the first forehearth (30), and a glass delivery tube (36) having an upper end adapted to be positioned underneath the orifice of the second forehearth (34) and a lower end adapted to deliver glass to the bottom pan assembly (32). The orifice is adapted to combine the glass from the two forehearths and, deliver cased glass to provide an interior glass from said first forehearth and an external layer of glass from said second forehearth. Provision is made for moving the glass delivery tube (36) horizontally, vertically and in azimuth relative to the second forehearth (34) and for moving the bottom assembly relative to the first forehearth. The glass delivery system includes a first carriage system (38) that supports the delivery tube assembly for movement horizontal, vertical and azimuth directions and a second carriage system (40) on which the bottom pan assembly (32) is mounted with respect to the first forehearth for moving the bottom pan assembly for horizontal movement relative to the first forehearth.
