摘要： The luffing angle measurement system includes a non-contact distance measuring device (440) mounted on the nose section (405) of a first boom (400). The non-contact distance measuring device (440) measures either a distance to a second boom (430) pivotally connected to the first boom (400) or measures a time delay between the transmission of electromagnetic energy towards the second boom (430) and reception of electromagnetic energy reflected from the second boom (430). A controller (470) then converts the measured distance or the measured time delay into a luffing angle.

Knowing this position gives an accurate measurement of the tele-cylinder's length. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a hoisting system having a hoisting line, a sleeve positioned on the hoisting line, and an anti-two-block sensing device installed about the hoisting line so as to allow the hoisting line to move through the anti-two-block sensing device. The anti-two-block sensing device includes a detector positioned to detect a sleeve component when the sleeve is present within the anti-two-block sensing device. Additional systems, devices, and methods are also disclosed.
